Since "Software update" will be built into Mac App Store, will all of my old box package Apple software licences automatically translated into App Store purchases? I need another copy of Aperture for my second Mac, not sure if I should wait?!

No, they will not. The only thing that changes is that updates will come through the Mac App Store app, just like all other Apple software, but they do not automatically become Mac App Store apps.

I haven't seen anything said about it transferring box licenses to the App Store.

The license for the boxed version of Aperture allows for installation on both a desktop and a laptop owned and used by the same person. One caveat is that it may only allow it to run on one system at a time if they're on the same LAN.

So if you have a desktop/laptop combination and would only be using it on one computer at a time, you're covered.

This is no longer enforced. I was using Aperture on my desktop and laptop simultaneously a couple weeks ago, and both were connected to the network.

(I was exporting a project on the laptop and importing it on the desktop. Halfway through the process I realized I was running it on both at the same time, which I didn't used to be able to do!)

I wish I could convert my boxed license to an App store license, as I dislike having to enter the two serial numbers whenever I have to reinstall it. (First, the Aperture 2 serial, then the Aperture 3 upgrade serial number)
