Before you say anything, i know that employees are not allowed to post here. I am looking for people who used to work for Apple.

Does anyone know, roughly, how much (per hour) each position at an Apple retail store makes?

    (for example)
    Specialist - $9.45/hr
    Creative - $11.95/hr
    Store Leader - $17.57/hr

(I am mostly interested in the Store Leader pay for curiosity's sake but the others would be appreciated as well.)

    THANX!!! :D

Seriously, the search function is right there in the toolbar. You're not going to spend 1 - 2 hours looking for the information you want. Even if it did take that long, that's a small price to pay in order to land a job you want.

If you're looking for a job, I'd highly recommend not being lazy. It's not one of those attributes listed in any job description I've seen.

Google is a good place to start. It's not really a meaningful question to ask in the first place since pay depends on where you live. Anyone on the sales floor that isn't a manager or a Genius gets paid within the range one would expect for a retail job.

My Mac Specialist position at Mayfair in Milwaukee paid $9/hr when I worked there 3 years ago. Not sure what it is now. It's not great, whatever it is. Can't really make a good living unless you're a manager, they got paid pretty well.

Is it true that all Apple Store employees are hipster types?

If you would like to know anything about Apple's Retail Stores, the site to visit is ifoapplestore.com.

This page contains what is likely the largest single collection of information about the Apple Store and its hires, including accounts from former employees.

No. They have very specific roles they try to fill. My personal experience in Apple Stores over the past years seems to indicate a trend towards hiring a closer to 60/40 mix between those in there 20s and those over 45.

This may have changed, I know that corporate had a crackdown. But it used to be one system at a 25% discount and three discounts for friends and family (basically codes that they could give out) for 15%. Those were annual numbers, in addition to a 10% discount, incentives on certain new products and receiving new products for free, such as iPods and iPhones. In order to qualify for the iPhone, employees must have been full-time or part-time for a year or over.

    Hope that helps.

I started at $13.75 for a part-time Specialist. But it depends where you are.

Just to clarify on this. It's:

Yeah. It's 25% for a "system" (CPU plus certain accessories like an AirPort or a display). Discounts on each iPod model. 50% for one of each software title. 25% on AppleCare. 10% in-store except Bose products.

Also, tons of 3rd-party companies offer Apple employees free licenses for their software.

I got a 100% free copy of the full CS4 Design Premium suite as part of a giveaway...that thing normally costs $1,799. Also got the MS Office Expression Media Edition for free.

Thought about applying for Apple part time

Any idea on where they would put me? I am in College right now so only really looking for 15-20 hours/week and $10-$12 (I would certainly take more, but don't expect to get it)

Should I make a separate thread for this?

Well you're definitely qualified. What position do you want to apply for?

I can tell you that the number of hours you get depends on the store. Actually, most things depend on what store you're at (hours, positions, employee policies) , or what state or country (pay).

Well genius is full time only right? so next step down from that I guess.

I have two apple stores within 5 blocks of my house.

I actually want as few hours as possible. Because of school, just want a little more spending $$$

The thing with Geniuses is that, at least where I worked, they were almost all hired internally. There is an internal program for people who want to advance to positions like Creative, Genius, manager, etc. Whether it's available part or full time depends on the store.

Each store can be really different from the next. There are some stores that I've heard are just horrible to work at, some are awesome. Luckily I worked at one one of the awesome ones :) although they started getting worse with new management and new corporate policies.

They kind of screwed me over. I was part time and in school, and they started wanting me to be available over close to 40 hours a week (in 9 hour shifts). And of course not letting me become full time (so that I wouldn't get the benefits, of course).

But I worked part-time for 2 years while in school and it worked out great. I was working usually 20 hours a week.

Go in and talk to a manager. They'll tell you that you have to apply online, of course, but ask them some questions, give them your card if you have one. If your stores are smaller, when it comes time to hire they'll remember you.

I will do that, thanx for the suggestions.

Unfortunately for me, the stores closets to me are in one of the biggest tourist destinations in the world so they get CRAZY busy. Also means they probably hire on a regular basis though.

It totally depends on where you live. You might get a fixed montly salary of maybe around 2800 USD/month or in others you might get an hourly pay of maybe 19 USD/hour. All this for a part-time specialist, more for all the other positions of course.
