Based on last nights reviews, I did finally put in my iPad order. Even the most negative (NY Times) pretty much said an iPad gen 1 to gen 3 is a no-brainer upgrade. I did so knowing ifix-it will be getting their review done with plenty of time for me to cancel. But I'm confident all the insides will be as expected, so the order is in place. April 17th is estimated delivery date. lawl....

You kind of went backwards there. Apple has a no questions 14 day return policy I think. Order the first day then read reviews and decide whether you want to open it or take it back.

Just some advice for next time..

I want cake. Apple wouldn't get a bad cake to honor such great product.
It's not like they are getting it for a local Supermarket.

Now I'm really wondering why you call yourself 'Scarred' :D

All iFix-it is going to do is open it to see what's inside. There are plenty of reviews on the functionality of the iPad itself, which would be more important to any user, unless you are one of those freaks who will return it because the display was made by Samsung.

Forgive me if I'm completely wrong regarding this matter but I see the new iPad as an evolution (upgrade) to the iPad 2. Where's Apple and their innovative new products.

Don't get me wrong it's still a beast of a device, but come on I was at least hoping for the addition of Siri.:(

Yay my picture made front page! Made the trip to Japan from Korea even more worth it \(^o^)/
00:11 here in Fukuoka. 8 more hours to go! Been here since around 17:00-18:00.

Have been served water and starbucks coffee by the staff. Store manager also handed us his card and greeted us :)

I wonder if they'll be replacing the iPads used for displaying product information about the corresponding product as well. That would be a ton of new iPads for limited use.

My guess. No. At least not right off. Because that would pull sellable stock. Plus since they are very possibly 16 GB wifi iPad 2 units they are still an on sale item.

Same with the internal use iPads by the techs etc, they likely won't swap those until the rush is basically dead. The ones they use for workshops will be the only not on a display iPad (3 gen) that they would change out now.

The cake probably tastes like garbage.

I've had cakes with designs like that before, and calling them "edible" is the same as calling paper "edible". The design literally peels right off... it's just a layer of fondant. And for those who have never eaten fondant before, let me tell you, fondant sucks. Though it's made of only sugar and water, it tastes nothing like sugar or water (or soda, which is also just sugar and water.)

It's an iPad cake. It will be magically delicious. :D

Cake would have been perfect if they hadn't mixed up the locations of Newsstand and Settings ... shame

Update: Oh, judging from the down votes I am either offending fans of Telstra or Apple fans who don't appreciate the details. Didn't mean to offend. It's just that the cake came so close to perfect.

Forget the newsstand/settings placements, its blatantly missing the phone app/icon
