In which countries? The main picture refers to Canada (alt text or something I saw). Will this be everywhere - as soon as they can? Or only a few countries?
True; but your interest and a retailers don’t always align. Sometimes the route to maximum profit means forgoing some sales.
the good thing about online purchases is u can buy anything from anywhere, the bad thing is u have to wait for the delivery. while buying physically its the opposite, u have to move your a.s, but at least u have the item immediately. now apple offers the worst of both worlds: move your a.s and then wait for the product 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
seems like a good option. instead of a customer on their own ordering something from their device or the demo devices, the specialist can order for them and have it shipped.

No, a retailer should not worry about what would be an unprofitable sale walking out of the door just because somebody wants to buy something that is out of stock. It's really simple economics and inventory management.
Exactly. It's not like you are forced to do that. It also lets someone look at products, decide what to buy, and send it to someone as a gift; all in one stop.
FWIW, Amazon often gives same day delivery of some Apple products, w/in 2 days for everything else Apple.
Amazon also offers huge discounts... But there will still be a sheep herd in apple stores just for the sake of feeling like in a burberry or rolex store
