Has anyone purchased an iphone via apple.com and had any return issues?
I will TRY to keep this simple.
Bought iphone 11 and for my son iphone 11 pro.
Of course I new right away i wanted the pro.
So decided we send back the 11 keep pro and get a iphone pro max.

so for two days tried online to setup the return,never worked system seemed to lock up.
So I chatted apple them self could not start the return either,i was told try later.
Of course never worked, so my son and i decided we drive the 125 miles to the nearest APPLE store.
Knowing good well heck its an apple store they can handle returns.

Of course after waiting 40 minutes lady tried went in the back called apple no go either.
I had to talk to the person she was talking to and he assured me with in two hours Apple will email me return label.
Ok ,I was not very happy and still shocked an APPLE store cant handle a returned phone?
So we get home and yes we have the label.

Now some more info the phone i was returning is on ATT next plan.I kept asking them can this issue of not being able to return it be something to do with ATT. They all said NO.
Oh online the system page never would change or let me do return,via app got error mesage try later.

Anyway phone is heading back to apple now my question and also my worry now will APPLE be able to reverse the ATT upgrade so I may then get another iphone and about how long did it take to reverse the upgrade?

Yes bought online at apple.com with ATT next yes.Well with other apple dealers example Target , target has to call ATT and they get upgrade I call reversed so when I walked out Target I had my ATT upgrade back to use?
Some concern APPLE gets phone and does nothing.Being if an APPLE store cant or doesnt know how to do a return? Now I know how great and we all love our iphones , but my guess I am not the first to return and just want a dif model?
And my gosh this is Apple their computer system even at an APPLE store cant process a att next phone return.

That is a nightmare. If the phone was purchased from Apple.com or from Apple Store, normally a return process shouldn't be an issue, but I'm surprised that it was giving you some grief there for a moment. Anyways once Apple Warehouse receives your device, and process the return and is complete, the upgrade is reversed and you should be able to do it again, granted it may take couple of hours after to couple of days.
 
Exact same thing happened here.

Went to my local Apple Store and they couldn't processed the return, luckily I live 10 mins away so I didn't waste that much time.

Would get an error when I tried to do it online. I had to get on chat and they sent me a return label.

Currently in the same situation, mine just showed delivered to Apple. Now I'm waiting for the return to be completed and for my AT&T Next upgrade eligibility to reset.
 
Thanks well I felt stupid my son and I driving to an apple store and THEY cant handle a return.
I forgot on my account online we do see return has been started even see on acc returned phone is in fed ex hands, so thats good.
Well hope like you said once iphone hit rerturn warehouse gets scanned in the SYSTEM will handle the tax refund I am owed plus the ATT upgrade back.
Oh kind of funny of course yesterday i knew driving over the apple store had no iphone 11 pro max on line inventory, and when we get there they dont.
To my surprise I was told apple online inventory is VERY accurite.
Oh funny thing looking today the have some green iphone 11 pro max I wanted.Anyway we wait and see what happens.

Hey I have some good news. Just got the email that my return is complete and went online to check if my upgrade eligibility reset and it did.

Wow, the exact same thing happened to me also!

I pre-ordered an 11 Pro and got it at home on launch day. A week later I went to the Apple store to return it, and they couldn't. She showed me the error that said something like unable to process.

I had to call the 1-800 number and they had to put in a case number to get it fixed. Today I got an email from them with my shipping label.

Pain in the butt, but it is what it is I suppose.
 
Well Fed ex delv returned iphone today.So now I wait for return to go thru and ATT next upgrade restored.I hope not to long I have to get a 11 pro max.
 
Next time you order a new iPhone, I would recommend purchasing it with Apple iPhone Payments. This will make it easier to return or change your order. You pay the same amount of money, but pay Apple each month. I have done this with my last 3 iPhones and can say I have never run into this issue.
I‘m glad this worked out for you, however!

Well Fed ex delv returned iphone today.So now I wait for return to go thru and ATT next upgrade restored.I hope not to long I have to get a 11 pro max.

Ya mine was on the AT&T Next Plan.

My issue is, my 14 day return is tomorrow the 4th. When Apple sent me the return label to send it back, it said I have to mail it before the 14th, so I'm not worried about the Apple part of it.

I sent it off today, but Apple probably won't get it until Monday, which I hope AT&T doesn't give me any issues reversing my Next payment plan being as Apple received the phone after my 14 days AT&T thing.

But technically it isn't my fault. I tried twice to take it back to an Apple store and both times they couldn't do it.
 
Switch to Verizon because of this issue.
I called Apple online support they have been having issues with AT&T iPhone returns for some reason they can’t explain.

I live in Dallas I went to a store and it said transaction couldn’t be completed. Even through the App it was giving errors.
 
When I called Apple support this past Sunday, they said something was messed up, but she didn't know what. The rep told me that it will get escalated and within 48 hours I should get emailed a return label.

After a few days I got the return label, but was thinking maybe they fixed something with the order, so I went to a different Apple store today and the same error came up, so they couldn't return it.

I boxed it up and dropped it off at FedEx this afternoon.
