The previous version of the app could be downloaded with a US account and used in other countries. The new update does require that the Apple ID currently in use by the iOS device be from the US as well now. Will downgrade the app so I can browse the Apple Store again and will wait for the international release... Maybe one day...

Still not universal?

That was my thought as well. I'm baffled that Apple's own programmers can't release a universal app from the start, especially since iPad have become such a focus for the company.

I was at my local Apple store yesterday to get the iPad HDMI dongle (which works great, BTW). The store was mobbed, and in the past it was usually difficult to find someone to cash me out. But as soon as I had the connector in my hand, one of the specialists pointed me to another who then cashed me out. That was the quickest service I've ever gotten at an Apple store.

I managed to download it from the UK App Store, but everything is in dollars (unlike the sample screens for the app in the iTunes store) and I can apparently get an iPhone 4 on Verizon or AT&T; though it at least shows my nearest Apple Stores in London correctly.

Try to order one. See if you get approved for an AT&T account with a UK address.

The app is available on the UK App Store. All prices are displayed in GBP. No US accounts or cards etc needed.

Another buggy piece of crap that won't even load on my iPod Touch 64 4th gen. Does apple do any QA on software before release?

I really don't understand the bitching about this not being 'universal'. What's wrong with using the normal apple store layout for the iPad?? The whole point of the app is because the site isn't ideal @ 3.5in. It's the same reason facebook doesn't have an official iPad app- they just want you to use the website, because it's good enough and works well. Having a separate iPad app for the store, beyond the website, woudl seem ridiculously redundant and pointless to me. Not every damn app needs to have both iPad and iPhone versions- they've different beasts.

Yes, it needs to be available in more countries, like Belgium f.e. ;)

'cause I'm really waiting for it…
