“free” games that are not actually free.

Exactly, the free category is meaningless and has been for a long time.

Until they sort these lists by income based on IAP it doesn’t mean anything.

Just about all those “free” apps are from paid services.

There are a few gems in here like Stardew Valley but even that is not new information.

Oh, yes, Temu - pollute like a billionaire.
It's true that buying tons of cheap stuff is killing our earth. But it's the less wealthy folks who are doing the dirty deed, the same folks that Walmart and co. cater to. Billionaires are too busy milking more money out of these folks they don't have time to buy and throw away cheap plastic stuff.

Where would I find the statistics of apps downloaded and purchased from alternate stores in the EU?

It's a tragedy of the commons that Temu exists.

If people fought for better rights and standards they would not need to buy that cheap disposable ****.

I don't get good notes popularity. I downloaded it long time ago and its just like any other notes app. What am I missing?

Not surprised to see some of the entries in the top free apps for iPhone, especially ChatGPT. Interesting to see the popular games this year.

Remember when Best Korea sent poo balloons to their southern neighbours? Temu is the same, except we buy their crap.

Just curious — why no YouTube app on your phone? (It's my #1 most used app on any device I own).

I try to limit my iPhone use, so I have no streaming video, games or social media installed.

As for YouTube specifically, I just don't watch it much and never got into it. I use it maybe an hour or two/month.

What I love about these lists is it shows what the average Apple user is doing on their iPhone.

Look at that free apps list, Apple likes to talk privacy but a large part of their business is built on that ad tracking economy.
