Fail. Too early and too bulky, even though it's a first generation model. Who is this for? Just people at home? Are people really going to wear these full time outside the home? Not a chance. What about people who wear glasses? Will this be comfortable long term with frames?
This is one first gen device to take a hard pass on unless you have money to burn.

If the hand gesture navigation works, that's huge. The see-through aspect of the goggles is also a significant advance. It's a little uncanny valley but is at least better than ignoring the issue like what's been done with other sets. It looks like Apple has fixed several of the problems with existing VR goggles. This should be a significant improvement over what's out there while remaining a niche product.

My first impressions are "Can we wrap this up, I need to buy a MacBook Air M2 and I can't do that until the store comes back up and that doesn't happen until this stupid presentation of an idiot who drove all the way to the lake to wear a helmet is over. Also, watching a woman sit on a couch, which obviously has a TV in the room she could be watching. But no, I can't go buy the MBA M2 15.4" until this silly product intro is over."
