Interesting, they mentioned glucose monitoring for some time - would be a great feature for the AppleWatch 7
It's very close but will only be as an indicator because of the delta to interstitial blood glucose testing is still great. For those of us using CGM today, it will be a backup.

That would be the selling point for me as well. I do the finger sticks andhave a nice app to get the information, but having one that all i have to do is activate it at any time, would be very nice to have. I wonder when the next hype buildup on hardware will be?

I was really hoping they’d implement something for sick days or rest days. watchOS really needs more flexibility in move goals. It just shouldn’t be that hard for them to make it adjust based on previous days, sleep, hr data, etc.

I also would have really loved to see at least one new analogue watch face.

Hoping the series 7 will be awesome, since I skipped the 6.

This and fixing the monthly challenges were my biggest two things and they didn't even bring it up. That's where my disappointment is. It's not the new features that is the problem. They want new features, fine knock yourself out. What I have an issue with is their reluctance to not make what they have better, despite the feedback.

"Blood glucose highlights
Receive highlights that show your blood glucose levels during sleep as well as during exercise. Interactive charts make it even easier for you to review your blood glucose data.6"

I think Apple may be giving us a small sneak peak at what they may have in mind for the Apple Watch. I don't know if the tech is here is year but, Apple is laying the foundation.

like, will there be precision finding with series 6 which includes the U1 chip?
also, how does the precision finding that they previewed work for AirPods which don't carry the U1 chip?View attachment 1788325
That's not precision finding in that screenshot. (Far or Near) isn't precision....Precision finding says the exact distance and an arrow pointing to where it is.

I really think why this year is underwhelming across all their products was due to the pandemic, especially at the beginning with all the fear and uncertainty. Plus, I know I’ll get disagreements with me on this, working from home does cut overall productivity. A lot of companies had to pivot and adopting such a radical shift would lead to loss of productivity.

Then there’s the infrastructure considerations, although Apple is in a lot better position than most companies in this regard.

And yet some Apple engineers want to stay away from the office and work from home. I got mixed results with WFH. Its surely nice if there is a meeting in a far away location and it saves me a half a day of traveling to that meeting. But a zoom call can never ever replace the little brain storming or chatting you have with colleagues at the water fountain or at the coffee break.

So if I'm correct, with iOS 15 (or, i guess a firmware update) they will enable the AirPods to emit a bluetooth signal even when the lid is closed, so they will appear in the find my app even when I'm not basically using them? As well as add the aforementioned finding?

Very excited about the always-on display for my Series 4
Is that what that was? Or was it that more apps that support always on display on series 5 and 6?
As a fellow series 4 owner I would be very excited about the former!
I'm holding out on buying a new apple watch, because I believe the series 7 will have flat edges...😁

That's corrected. They will broadcast their beacon every few minutes i would assume.

Na, not sure how they got that idea.

There's simply more apps that support displaying info via the "Always On" display when the application idles. Currently most apps idle out to a crappy overlay display a digital time and a blurred background.

Got It, thanks!

Still not for the Music app. Which is what we have been requesting since ever.
Almost all apple's other apps have hand off support.
Oh wow! kind of surprising considering that it should be pretty essential to have the music follow you around. And why would it be so hard for them to implement this? (hopefully AirPlay to Mac in Monterey doesn't aim to replace this:eek:)
But I guess iMessage and email are definitely more important.
Anyways, looking forward to buying the M1 MacBook Air soon!

Now I hear it might be some time before they have it. I won't upgrade until the watch has that feature as the present one is working right now. I still have trouble with the blood oxygen sensor taking measurements consistently when I want them and rarely any other time. Well the heart rate works.

Yes the blood oxygen measuring is not great, but at least it seems to be integrated into the VO2max calculation. My score there dropped 9 points after the upgrade to the S6 and now moves with some consistency as my fitness improves in the Post-COVID world.

For me the blood oxygen is kinda important. I have anemia and my level of hemoglobin remains below the minimum of the normal range. So knowing that value kind of gives me a heads up on the oxygen level. When I was diagnosed in the hospital, the O2 was 83%. I recall fondly this nurse asking, "Are you always that pale?" I replied, "with the oxygen being 83%, I would guess that probably has a lot to do with it. No, I am not pale normally, but I could be classified as a pale face back in cowboy times." No sense of humor those ER people, none at all.
