I hope they are "with the times" and 1. it comes with a stand & 2. the stand is removable and the display is VESA compatible.

The current LG Ultrafine monitors that Apple sells are VESA compatible. So are the iMacs that Apple sells (or at least can be ordered that way).I hope they are "with the times" and 1. it comes with a stand & 2. the stand is removable and the display is VESA compatible.
I just bought for 800 a 49 inch 5120x1440 samsung monitor 240hz gsync hdr . While it’s no color accurate monitor I personally think it is way more worth than these overpriced apple monitors
I agree. And the stand will tilt. That's it. It won't rotate, height adjust, or switch to portrait.Yes they will come with an integrated stand and yes they will support VESA, though if it is sold as an Apple display that VESA support will likely be a separate configuration where the VESA mount is built-in and replaces the stand like the M1 and Intel iMacs and the original Cinema and Thunderbolt Displays.
Unlike the Intel model, the 24" M1 iMac can be swapped between VESA and stand configurations, but it requires a back panel swap so there would be a parts and labor cost and it will (normally) have to be done by a Genius Bar or Apple authorized repair shop. So we might see that option on these new displays.
I'm looking at an iMac 5k right now and at a normal-resolution secondary monitor next to it (because I have not found a really compelling Retina-quality replacement yet) and the quality difference is night and day, especially with text but also with high-resolution pictures and graphics. On the 2k monitor (comparable to yours in resolution) everything is very obviously and annoyingly pixelated, on the 5k monitor pixels are indeed no longer visible at all and rendering of even small text is practically perfect.I just bought for 800 a 49 inch 5120x1440 samsung monitor 240hz gsync hdr . Someone postulated a price of $599 for the 24". What do you think?
But are you taking into account the iMac cosmetics and Apple-Friendly connectivity? My low price of $900 is extremely optimistic. But yes, $899 would be a gift. I’m wondering if like the older display, Apple allows magsafe charging. Also, the smaller LG currently has two thunderbolt ports and two USB-C’s. Gotta wonder what they finally decide to offer us.The LG 21.5" Ultrafine that used the same Retina panel as the 21.5" iMac was $699 so if this is an Apple monitor using the 24" 4.5K Retina panel I would expect $899 or $999.
Same! I am still using the 24" Cinema Display because there hasn't been a better overall option. I was recently on 2015 Macbook Pro waiting for something decent, skipped the whole touchbar era. So a 16" M1 and a 27 Apple Display is going to be very nice!! Finally after about 7 years Apple is finally making Pro level screens and computers that I want to use.Dear Apple,
Please take my money! I'm still rocking my old 24" Cinema Display, but am itching for an upgrade. Nothing comes close to the design and build quality of the Apple displays.
In the MBP the Notch doesn't take away from the display area but instead extra display space is added to the left and right of it!This is all fine, but will there be a notch? I’m afraid without a notch, I can’t integrate it with the rest of my devices.
