Re: Apple sacrificing style for the PC market
I think you are rediculously wrong.
People may have liked the multi-colored candy-ish style of the old Macintosh computers, but things evolve for a reason. Personally, I thought the multi-colored iMacs and iBooks were awful. I think the new Powerbooks and G5 are absolutely stunning. They are clean, crisp, and reak of style. I can honestly equate them to the looks fo a nice Jag or Mercedes. Remember when the TiBook came out? People freakied out about how awesome it was, and I still think it looks fantastic. I think the bubbly-plastic look is a waste of manufacturing time and make the computers look klunky.
I like the iPod, Powerbook, iMac, new iBook, G5 and all the new computers/acessories exponentially more than the older designs.
BTW: This is the ugliest thing I have EVER seen in my life.

The old days of the sophistication of the old G3 enclosure, the Cube, the Pismo line, the first generation iMac, even the first iBooks are gone (to the neutral look of the iPod). All we may expect from the industrial designers are gonna be PC look a like computers, no more games, no more creativity just square silver boxes with one or two things, very minimalist so nothing is compromised and more people can accept them....
The "Think Different" Apple design era has changed to a "Look a like".
