You don't sound too interested then. lol

I mean - not quite sure what you mean by that. If this thing had 2 or 3 lenses I'd have pre-ordered. It's the only thing that gives me pause.

Why not try it, and return if you don't like it? My worries about this dissipated immediately once I started using the Air. That doesn't mean I wouldn't appreciate more lenses, but it does mean that I like the tradeoff.

I know I'd miss the cameras too much. I ditched carrying a point and shoot or dSLR camera after iPhone 11 Pro and haven't looked back since. I love the flexibility of the camera system and without it, I'd feel the need to pick up my RX-100 again on vacation. Carrying two cameras would feel like a step backwards.

Other than that, I'd be all over the Air. I'm not on my phone much these days for computing or social media stuff. I much prefer a laptop or iPad for those things.

If you're looking to your phone as a stand-in for the RX-100 then I totally get where you're coming from.

You can clearly see the air haters loving this “report” (no actual source provided) as fodder for their coping for not getting the Air. I’m ready for the Air 2 ban by.

Give me the Apple iPhone Phat. It’s beefy, has a 20,000mah battery, and can sustain a huge fall.

Flies in the face of reports claiming Apple sold the Airs out in China within minutes of availability. Someone is lying 😂

Media coverage in 2025 😵‍💫

Apple priced the iPhone Air too high. A good price-point would've offset the compromised features. It's a gorgeous phone and I hope they will continue innovating in this space (assuming this is the starting point for the iPhone Fold, if that is still going to be a thing).

Once smaller parts become more advanced and or cheaper, Apple can either offer a full-featured iPhone that's super thin in the current price range, or keep the current limitations and reduce the price of the phone to make it more alluring for those who may not need or want a better camera, speakers, etc.

Okay Apple, it's time. One more year of the Air. Then in 2027, let's go full circle and release the Iphone 19 Mini!

I don't know where I heard it, but, this quote is very relevant to people's thoughts here regarding Air vs Pro.

"If a cheese pizza does not have pepperoni then it's not a bad pizza. It's just a different pizza!"

This applies here as well. Sure, the Air has one camera, a smaller battery, and a single speaker, but, it does not make it a bad phone. It just makes it a different phone that some prefer. For others, Apple provides 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max.

People keep saying "if Air had two more cameras and one more speaker then it would be an instant buy for me." Well, if that was the case then the Air wouldn't be an Air. It would be a different/thicker/heavier phone.

Among other compromises! It's really not that much thinner or lighter than the iPhone 17. We're talking 2.3mm here. That is nothing.
A single strand of human hair is about 0.017mm to 0.18mm (of course, AI search) yet it will bother people if it gets in one's mouth or eye. The difference in thickness does not look much on paper but once you hold the phone for any amount of time, you will feel the difference. It was enough for me to return my 17 Pro after having used bigger phones in the past.

The Air seems to have similar appeal as the Mini, where the sacrifices were worth the form factor for those who are fans of them. If I’m counting right, this is Apple’s sixth straight year of trying to find a market for a fourth iPhone in the lineup (not including the SE/e/previous year base models). Perhaps it’s time they focus on going for great with the three that actually sell well… I know people are anxious to see what the Fold turns out to be like; I see it being another niche iPhone that has limited appeal for numerous reasons.

Well yah, you're comparing to a Pro Max and a Fold (basically two phones put together).
Those are the two I have in front of me now. I've owned almost every iPhone since the original and multiple Androids. My opinion of the Air still stands. People are exaggerating the battery and speaker issues. How many people that actually own the Air have complained? It’s only people looking at a spec sheet that havent actually toucjed an Air complaining about it.

24 gram case
164 gram phone
6.5” screen
All day battery

Yes please.

I waited out to get this iPhone Air as the first Face ID upgrade. Well worth it.

Omg buy this phone, I want a better one next year! 😡

Ironically, I would have kept mine if it hadn't been for Tim Cook's shameful removal of ICEblock and other apps from the App Store.

Have you held one for any length of time? If you carry one for more than a day, it feels like a whole lot more than nothing when you go back to something else.
I've tested carrying around five different foldables within the past year alone. The difference in weight between the Honor Magic V3 Global and the Z Fold 7 is 11 grams. I noticed no difference between these two phones when holding them or carrying them around. In terms of thickness, the difference between the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and the Z Fold 7 when you include the camera bump, is approximately 2.5mm. I've also noticed no difference between these two phones in day to day use.

With all due respect, that is a terrible analogy.
