Calling it here: it will be called: EyeGlass
iGlass while clever and a play on words, is too cheesy.
Name a single professional use case for HUD via AR goggles. A single one. There no way this could be incorporated into any existing or future workflow. Not A/V, not any scientific/medical, not publishing.
I remember the days when people said that about smartWatches. This is stupid and useless
I assume a market and suppliers will quickly provide prescription lenses for these - and as in MFI hearing aids, will help many navigate everything from crosswalks to elevators. And how does this work for people who wear prescription glasses, especially transitions?
Same thing could be said about your smartphone. Do you have one?Useless tech which interrupts and imposes on your life IMHO.
All those brands have solved the one problem of manufacturing the optic waveform delivery system in a miniature version that can fit in a lens?Haven’t read all the comments yet but it sounds to me Apple has gone from a fast and nimble state of the art company to snail pace. By the time it will come to market, google, Samsung, Amazon and many Chinese brands will have similar or more advanced tech for years at a fraction of the cost at what Apple has to offer. But maybe Apple is working together with Prada or Armanito make the difference and ‘exclusivity’
"Sleeker glasses"? Don't you mean "thinner glasses"?![]()
Oculus Quest is huge, nobody will want to walk around the streets with one of those on their head.
I think something hidden in branded glasses or shades sound less invasive, and wouldn’t require professional medical advice before attempting use.Ten to fifteen years from now, they'll have this down to where the projectors/screens are in contact lenses, and in the morning, you'll put on your displays. That's when things start looking like science fiction. Everything looks completely normal, you don't feel like you're wearing anything extra, but ask Siri a question and the answer pops up, seemingly floating in front of you.
This is stupid and useless
