Except that there is a growing list of users which are troubled by it.

I'm not saying that it has a top priority, but as an issue with a record dating back to 2016 I think people like me—people with more than a handful of songs in playlist—could be serviced once in a while.

But hey, just a matter of opinion.

So what’s your recommendation exactly? Nested playlists?

I admit to starting a blank as I didn’t really start listening to music until Apple Music, so the concept of owning music, much less a digital music library is kinda foreign to me. I am more a podcast person myself.

I'm less of a podcast (only following one actually) person myself, favouring my own 'curated' playlists above all else ;)

As for my recommendation; earlier I mentioned some options to try, such as, a (draggable) button which can help you scroll at faster/more accurate speeds through the list. The button itself could appear when you are manually scrolling above a certain speed.
You could also try to add a 'index' from A-Z—or Z-A for that matter, to the right of the list. Since sorting alphabetically helps, but is still cumbersome when trying to reach e.g. the songs starting with a 'P'.
One could also introduce a sectioned-list where you can either make manual sections or pre-defined sections (again; A-Z) and allow people to scroll section-wide as opposed to per track.

These are just off the top of my head, I'm sure you can think of—or at least try more solutions as well. In the end it's about offering ways to index a list and make it easier to scroll through.

Just realised it may be helpful to know how people such as me use their lists as well.
I, for one, know my playlist and it's custom order like the back of my hand...weird as that may sound, and like to scroll to certain 'places' in the list at different points throughout the hour, day, etc.

Oh, just now thought of another thing which is already a big help.
What about adding a 'scroll to this song' whenever you use the searchbar on top of the playlist? That would make things already that much easier.

Yes eye opening indeed.

So after reading it I think spotify is the bully here :p

It wants to be on iOS app store and use IAS but pay 0$ to the ecosystem host. It wants to be on apple watch and homepod, and wants Siri integration etc. - still wants to pay absolutely nothing (i bet even the 100$ yearly is unfair for Spotify) and since it is made to pay - Apple is anti-competitive - yeah right!

And its already informing the user in app where to get info about subscriptions - so you can click and visit a page to get the info and subscribe using their own payment system.

Now thats unfair, right.

That's what I thought when I first heard Spotify were complaining - Apple build the ecosystem everyone is enjoying, and now they are all taking shots at them. But aside from some of the pricing things, if you read through that thread, you can see that Apple aren't playing nice and trying to interfere with them as they are a competitor.

Other shops could degrade the iPhone experience. No quality control and viruses would run rampant similar to the Google play store. The end user wouldn't know any better and think the phone sucks due to all the the issues. I seen it before with iPhone users on Sprint's crappy network. The users couldn't do much when they were out and about because Sprints network is slow and spotty coverage wise. The users thought the iPhones sucked and Sprint would blame the phone as well and try to sell them another phone.

Bottom line: Apple created a platform and can set rules how they please. Apple was dead broke back in the day probably because they listened to idiots that wanted them to give things away for free and open up.
Macs let you install apps from anywhere and they work pretty well. Just because Apple created this system doesn’t mean it’s good or not anticompetitive.

Look ... I can do that too:
