Terry, Have you tried power-cycling the effected aid? I have been having this problem with my OPN1s (but only in one or the other at a time, so far, not yet both at once) since getting my iPhone 12 Max on Friday and this morning when it happened on a call, I power cycled the one that did it (the right aid) and when it was done turning back on it was fine. (the call was fine on the left aid throughout, in this case)
Certainly we need a fix. But if it can be cleared this way, I don't consider it an emergency.

Unrelated but I’ve discovered that the AirPod Pro ear buds, configured correctly, make a nice upgrade to my Costco Resound (yes, didn't get the fine tuning available at audiologist) wireless hearing aids. The sound is actually better with the AirPod Pros (just the Pods themselves, in transparent mode).

Potential downsides are the Pods being more visible, battery life, sound filtration and fine tuning may not be what some people need, and I have to turn up the pod volume to about 80%. I have 80% hearing loss (and distorted) in one ear, from Menieres disease (the Pod on that side doesn’t help a lot) and have about 70% hearing in my “good” ear; I’m 68. So, pretty excited about using these instead of the hearing aids. YMMV of course but it’s a cheap thing to try for some people. Hopefully, it’ll get even better.

There seems to be an issue with audio of any kind in iOS 14.2 on my iPhone 12. There is a significant delay on any audio - videos, games, keyboard. Restarts and resets will resolve it for 3-5 minutes, and then the issue returns and the delay gets progressively longer. The delay is there through the internal speakers, AirPods or car audio (wired or BT).

I have gone back to using my X, and I really wish I hadn’t bothered upgrading now.
Agreed. I noticed my car audio doing it both wired and Bluetooth—figured it could be an update issue because I have a 4Runner using the horrible ToyotaEntune suite that never works right with iPhone but I was using my AirPods just now and they would cut off while I was listening but they were still connected to my phone and whatever I was listening to was still playing. I did only have one AirPod in but that shouldn’t have mattered. I don’t have a delay but the sound will just cut out.

Has anyone hear downloaded the latest update that is supposed to fix this problem? Did it?

I am thinking of buying a 12 mini, but have been holding off until I can confirm that it will work well with my ReSound Enzo hearing aids. (They play well with my 6s+ and iPad Pro 2020, and no amount of Oled-FaceID-full-screen-design wizardry is worth sacrificing my ability to hear audio from my phone.)

Downloading the fix now. I've occasionally had the issue with my Oticon OPN 1 hearing aids. Will see how it does.

UPDATE: I'm happy to report that the issue seems better on my hearing aids. I just played a game for a while on my phone that almost always caused the problem to happen before. I didn't hear any strange noises this time. It's hard to prove something "doesn't exist". But so far, the issue hasn't come back for me since upgrading my phone to iOS 14.2.1

What an insensitive response. You know there are people who are hearing impaired that literally depend on this to communicate?
Insensitive? How so? Apple's supposed to know about and squash EVERY bug before release? Smh. Put the pitchfork down. It'll get fixed.

Bought iPhone 12 last week. Installed 14.3. Experiencing connection and static issues with Signia hearing aids.
My Internet searches reveal that many, many, many iPhone 12 owners are very upset that Apple still has not fixed this problem!

I bought my iPhone 12 last week, and have had big problems with static, and with one or other HA dropping out.
Have Resound Lynx3D. NOw my audiologist cannot fix the TV streamer and the Mini-Mike. Seems i can have only one and not both.
They all worked perfectly with my old iPhone SE. DOH!!! very frustrated!!
