Dang Apple can be dumb.
People also couldn't setup their new Mac Studio with a third party keyboard either.

Because Apple is cocky enough to assume that everyone who buys anything Apple already owns an iPhoneThe iCloud Terms and conditions should have a accept and decline button on AppleTV.
How hard is that to put it on there?
Kind of weird to have an AppleTV as your only Apple device to begin with. It doesn't do anything better than other 4K stream boxes at like 3x the cost.
The selling point for me at least is just how it works with other Apple services and devices... which if it's your only Apple device you presumably have zero benefit from that.
Afaik, Apple still hasn't made a mouse with 2 buttons. It is a one button mouse which can tell what side you click on. Why make anything simple when you can make it complicated?Apple probably thinks that's too much for the user to handle. Even making a mice with more than 1 button was a GIANT leap of faith back in the days.
One that owns an Android. What kind of man does not own an iPhone?

And then lose the 99.9%? I mean… I suppose that’s one strategy.Apple, start building new experiences and software for your 0.1% power users. They're the ones that will make new experiences for the masses anyway.
It’s courage. The iCloud Terms and conditions should have a accept and decline button on AppleTV.

I don’t think “power users” have anything to do with this issue. And “power users” would’ve had multiple devices anyway, including a computer and a browser. For me this scenario underscores how Apple's software team seemingly build/test for 'perfect environment' scenarios and don't bother (or care) about the evil outliers. Perhaps partly explains why so many people run into issues upgrading software versions on macOS unless they're running a hardly modified version of the direct predecessor to the new update.

Do they still have 1-button mice?Apple probably thinks that's too much for the user to handle. Even making a mice with more than 1 button was a GIANT leap of faith back in the days.
Or they want it to be absolutely inconvenient without so you buy one. For the situation with my MIL, he would literally say "get your MIL an iPhone"Because Apple is cocky enough to assume that everyone who buys anything Apple already owns an iPhone

Right, and as noted above, this also happens to people that DO have another Apple device. But if that device is not on, or is too old to get, iOS 16 you could still get locked out. Which is what happened to my mom.Eh, I can definitely see someone coming to the conclusion that Apple TV is the best set-top streaming device on the market and picking one up. Apple should be supporting the scenario that it is used as a standalone device, not paired with any other Apple device. This was a big guffaw on their part.
The mighty mouse also only had one "clicker" (microswitch) but areas that could sense your finger.I think the mighty mouse had multiple buttons. It had four functional controls, each with their own sensor, including buttons on the side of the mouse as well as a clickable scroll ball.
