So, headed to the Apple Store for my 8th iUP for the new 16PM, previously with zero issues at all. However, I managed to get someone who had no idea was the iUP was and put through the wrong version of AppleCare. If you thought it would be as simple as adding it on, boy are you wrong.
Cut to 2 hours later. My iPhone 15 PM is “locked” into the trade-in system and it’s no longer possible for me to take the 16PM I was in the middle of setting up. Eventually, they decided that cancel my iUP, and start over. They would then keep my 15PM as a trade in, and cover the difference to pay off the original iUP (confusing, I know). In-between times the manager constantly got things wrong. I left the store without my 15PM, and with 2 agreements for the same 16PM, 1 agreement still for the original 15PM, and a promise to transfer the funds to pay off the original iUP. Because the trade in amount was lower than the balance left, they gave me the difference in cash (thought this was odd). Managing to follow along?
Cut to today, I get a call from Apple to say my 15PM is still locked into the trade in system and they need to unlock it to trade it in again and send me the funds for it so I can close my original iUP. Feeling they had zero clue what they were doing I called the finance company responsible for iUP who confirmed 3 things; my original 15PM agreement was “settled,” the bad iUP 16PM had been cancelled by Apple and the other iUP for the 16PM was set up as expected.
So from my end, everything is correct except the cash difference they gave me. I tried to call back the store but they haven’t got back to me. Surely it’s not possible for Apple to “unsettle” the finance agreement. What will happen if they transfer me the cash also. I’ve tried to help them, but they either don’t get back to me or have brushed off my remarks. I’m put A LOT of faith in them leaving my 15PM with ZERO evidence, possibly leaving me with 3 active iUP. Thankfully this isn’t the case, but how much longer do I help them correct their mess?
