I had a friend with two Klipsch Horns - no more additional furniture needed - and I was impressed.

Understandable - some of these are occupying the complete loft - not only a normal listening room 😂
Mine have Fraunhofer Horns which are far more sophisticated with respect to size and tone - more balanced and less into the eye - more into the ear.

Your comparsion is abolutely correct, I fully agree. One should treat himself with the right toys. There are hitech aluminum rims for cars, that cost a fortune. Enjoy, if you like them.

Rims, kitchen appliances or sport devices for parachuting or even simple things like a nice weekend can cost more in case you're opting for a helicopter to bring you first in the morning up the slope.

I can not stand the critizism - take it or leave it. If you do not like broccoli, do not complain about their existance, just do not eat it.

Correct - completely pointless and more self revelation of narrow minded grudge or resentment - at least not helpful for others in the forum

...just got the "Paper Birds" app - need to go back there. 😁

Thx for the hint - downloaded it a few minutes ago and it looks very charming and tasteful - what a beautiful idea!

Thx!

P.S. My spouse will love it

Speakers are kind of a special thing, like pickups for LP's. I will not go into my speaker setup here. ;)
As for "Paper Birds" it is kind of "dare the experience" - you can have it - right now.

If you want to spend a bit more money and support the geniously crazy people, who program these things: I also recommend "Moon Portal" Have the Holo Deck of the Enterprise or even the Deck of it at your fingertip. (The real chairs, you put there, where Zulu or Chechov sit are a bit too low) I will place a request to lower the floor...

Speakers are kind of a special thing,

Actually not really - once you disentangle the perceived beauty of the optical design from the acoustic performance and understand the physics behind it you‘ll recognize that only few concepts are a winning formula - I trust physics and in case physics are packed into a nice shell I am even more happy

like pickups for LP's.

Also here smaller lighter and digitized as soon as possible wins most of the time - I prefer tangential tone arms with beryllium needle with the least amount of mass - not because it‘s cheap or pricy but because physics are understandable for me

I will not go into my speaker setup here. ;)

I did not mention my setup and it would hardly find the right audience here - I can only say that I am a fan of the brand for 40+ years and it‘s the first time in my life that I have the speakers that I always wanted. Price was almost irrelevant for me - but the size of them is tolerated by my spouse and her buy in was more important than my wishes

Will have a look at it - thx for the tip - live is too short to miss opportunities!

Among othere I have heard the rogers ls3/5a - already them were blewing me away. But I had to go back to the way I listen to music - it is this "by the way listening". The way you do it, is being focused on it - I wish I could do that. 😇
The AVP are a good learning field. I have to focus on it.

My compliments to you and your spouse - you are doing things together and accepting the "rough edges" of of eachother.

PSST: I guess, we are spoiling the thread here. 😊

No British ( Chinese manufactured ) or US speakers for me - I prefer German handmade craftsmanship for all things except ArtDeco from France 😇
Well - I'd make an exception for a pair of Wilson Wamm Master Chronosonic from the US
( provided I had the resources for the loft to put them in )

But I had to go back to the way I listen to music - it is this "by the way listening". The way you do it, is being focused on it - I wish I could do that. 😇

roon helps a lot here to research the own music collection - best single investment in music ever for me - bought the lifetime license and it's nothing short but amazing. I either listen to music or do something else - I always tell people that it's o.k. to have the soundtrack to your life - but I prefer the music as art form and the only thing I can do while listening to music is having a nice glass of wine with it - and potentially some cheese with it.
Bought a very nice German turntable for my new stereo set and the sound tops the digital tool chain buy a good deal - the magic word is harmonics - there is even and uneven harmonics and my guess is that the even harmonics produced by the needle and the tonearm are positively on the music perception. Not valid for all recordings - some sound better from digital high bitrate files.

The AVP are a good learning field. I have to focus on it.

There is no other way of using it and this may be one of the reasons why some loud and vocal guys here dislike it - for me it's just another single item usage in a life full of single time activities - yet it all comes down to personal enjoyment and I sense an overlap in interests between music lovers, foodies, car aficionados, photographers and many other reflecting activities - the AVP is another activity that needs your full attention.

My compliments to you and your spouse - you are doing things together and accepting the "rough edges" of of eachother.

With the sportscar and the new speakers the relationship was a bit challenged to say the least - but she understood that I am much calmer when I get my toys and she loves the speakers since they are basically distortion free with crystal clear sound from 22 Hz to 24 kHz ( which we bot don't hear any more ) - but the bass is very noticeable - it rumbles the house - 4 x 800 W 12" woofers have an enormous driving power

PSST: I guess, we are spoiling the thread here. 😊
Not much debate going on here anyway - the haters are getting hopefully a hard time and some confirmation that only rich guys can afford the AVP and thus their picture of the world is fine again. For me the AVP is in line with many other things that make life so much nicer - nobody needs these things but they make life so much more interesting - having said that my speakers and some other investments are more important to me but since I am not working at ship scraping company harvesting steel for them old vessels I can enjoy some nice toys.

I guess we feel the same here and I would not be surprised that this is the audience the AVP is mainly buying right now. The bigger crowd will follow once the price and more important the weight comes down.

Spent several hours yesterday with it and I am still overwhelmed bye it's performance - just magic.

This is the killer new feature in this release IMO, will make using AVP in bed so much easier!

"Volumetric window applications updated with visionOS 2 SDK now automatically tilt to face the user when user repositions a volume upwards. This will allow users to interact with the volumetric window content while in a reclined position. Developers can opt out of this new default behavior for volumetric windows whose content is meant to be aligned with gravity. volumeWorldAlignmentscene modifier can be used to control this behavior. Volumetric window applications not updated with visionOS 2 SDK will continue to get the existing default gravity alignment behavior from visionOS 1. (124620395)"

Will likely download this during the weekend. Last few builds have been great.
I’d just like to know if you have either tried one or own one? If so please expand. And if not, you are adding zero value other than a vain attempt at humor.

Owning one, I can say it has potential but Apple has a ways to go as there are very basic things it doesn’t have like a contacts app, ability to do WiFi calling etc. it’ll be next year before this thing is what may be considered a v1.0 software. Apple just wanted to get a year and a half of time out in people’s hands first is my assessment. And typical for a CEO like Timmeh who is all about profits and not a products guy. And the performance of this device reflects that.

I don't understand the question. I have owned an Apple Vision Pro since launch date. My comment was regarding the latest Dev build of visionOS 2. The last few have worked great without any issues for me. I just haven't had a chance to grab the newest one yet.

that was no question from him - just a bit negativeness and venting

Nah - I think this one years before qualified him 🤣

I know the Monkey Run from Steve. Yes, that was also more than cringe. You'd think Steve had enjoyed the Taste of the White Powder beforehand, the way he was freaking out. Embarrassing!
But I still think your millennium statement about the iPhone is undisputedly number one.

After his Monkey Run everything he said was irrelevant for me
