Apple today seeded the first beta of an upcoming iOS 12.1.2 update to developers, five days after releasing iOS 12.1.1, an update that introduced a revamped FaceTime layout, re-added Live Photos for FaceTime, and brought Haptic Touch for notifications on iPhone XR.

Apple's release notes state that iOS 12.1.2 "contains bug fixes and improvements," so this appears to be a minor update.

Registered developers can download the new iOS 12.1.2 beta from Apple's Developer Center or over-the-air once the proper configuration profile has been installed from the Developer Center.

We'll update this post if we discover any notable changes.

Still waiting for Apple to really leverage that haptic engine. It's entirely possible that with some effort, users could drive their XRs around like little RC cars.

Girls like guys that are mysterious right? I guess my pickup line will be "Bug fixes and improvements". I'm gonna be a ladies man pretty soon

Very quick, there were reports of app data issues during the beta that weren't dealt with and people were reporting them out in the wild (certain apps not being able to access wireless data while other apps could). Hopefully this covers that.

I wonder if one of the bug fixes is a response to the Chinese Qualcomm intermediate court victory?

Since you asked, iOS 12 covers the issues regarding the patents (in China), supposedly, so they do not apply (no more selling iOS 11 phones there though /s).

Hoping they remove the badge notification from settings app (even though no active notifications) and the ghost keyboard after unlocking an iPhone X( keyboard letters appear as you try to scroll using the lower part of the screen)

iPhone 8 running 11.4 just fine. OK to update or will i encounter battery issues? Maybe just wait for 12.3 ? No need for the emoji updates on my end.

Honestly iOS 12 is just better than iOS 11 no matter the version. I’m using a 7 Plus and battery life is fine. iOS 12 is also much snappier.

11 had great features but was one of the worst releases due to bugs especially after iOS 10’s quality.
