Apple this morning introduced the latest version of macOS, macOS Mojave, and the new software is now available for developers to download for testing purposes.

The new macOS Mojave beta can be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center, and once installed, subsequent betas will be available through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store.

As this is brand new, early release software, it should not be installed on a primary machine.

macOS Mojave brings multiple new features to Apple's Mac lineup, including a new system-wide Dark Mode, an entirely revamped Mac App Store, and a Stacks feature for organizing files on the desktop.

Several iOS apps are coming to macOS Mojave, including Apple News, Stocks, Voice Memos, and Home, which will let you control your HomeKit devices on the Mac. As with iOS, Group FaceTime is available on the Mac with Mojave.

macOS Mojave is limited to registered developers at this time, but later in the summer, Apple plans to make a public macOS Mojave beta available, giving public beta testers a chance to try the software before it sees a public launch in the fall.

Well I guess it’s time to look at a newer MacBook Pro since they stopped support for my 17” early 2011 one. Oh well. I was surprised it wasn’t dropped last year.

Which Macs are supported??? Because Mojave looks awesome to me.
Any developer can tell us which Mac models support macOS 10.14? Big thank you.

EDIT: Okay okay, here's the list, I'll quote you guys, thanks:
Supported Configurations macOS 10.14 supports: • MacBook (Early 2015 or newer) • MacBook Air (Mid 2012 or newer) • MacBook Pro (Mid 2012 or newer) • Mac mini (Late 2012 or newer) • iMac (Late 2012 or newer) • iMac Pro (2017) • Mac Pro (Late 2013, plus mid 2010 and mid 2012 models with recommended Metalcapable GPU) *Support for 2010 and 2012 Mac Pro models will be available in an upcoming beta

Can you choose between dark mode and traditional mode? Dark mode is looking so Windows/Unix to me....

Edit: I already found out. You can choose and that’s nice.

Coverflow disapeared and transformed into the new photo’s like view...

Is Siri’s listening capabilities improved on Mac and iOS? It wasn’t clear for me in the keynote:eek:

Really? I must be strange because I cheered several times. News, Home, APFS for Fusion...these were top of my list and they delivered. Dark mode is a maybe for me. So far as I am concerned they got it done.
airplay 2?

Wonder what the system requirements are like. Can't imagine them being much different from High Sierra's..

How often do these get public betas?

From my experience, the last several versions have, so Mojave will as well, and usually ~every other dev beta will get a public one. YMMV of course, and I highly recommend you understand that some of these get REALLY rough during the early betas.
