"If Steve Jobs were here..." blah, blah, blah. "Windows has had this for years..." blah, blah, blah. "Buggiest most unstable release ever..." blah, blah, blah. "Yearly updates..." blah, blah, blah. "Does this fix the XYZ bug?" blah, blah, blah. "Stop adding features and fix bugs!" blah, blah, blah. "There are no new features, where's the innovation?" blah, blah, blah. "I'll stick with XYZ" blah, blah, blah.

The responses we'll surely see here are almost as predictable and useless as these repetitive and nearly useless articles about beta updates from MR. 🤣

Sigh.

Dammit Apple!!!!

[Edit: to clarify, I'm grumpy that a Trillion dollar software company is asking me to spend my valuable time beta testing for them, and they can't apparently be bothered to write any release notes to help me do that task]

Universal Control still not fixed. Constantly losing connection from my Mac Studio to MacBook (both M1). Sometimes when this happens the mouse cursor is gone from both machines and I just have to wait a couple of minutes for it to come back. I've tested other KVM apps and they never had this problem, why can't Apple build something that doesn't break? The net is littered with reports about this (Apple Support forums and Reddit). I've filed 5 reports in the feedback tool and it just gets ignored, much like Siri.

Any chance this solves the 2019-2023 Mac Pro issue mounting SSD/PCI cards?
I don’t know if this has been solved, but I will say this build is wreaking havoc on my MBP16 2019. Kernal_task using 700+ CPU with no apps running! I open anything and there is lag.

Runs smoothly on my MBP16 M1 though.

Actually turns out it had to do with my external display and my external GPU. they needed to be disconnected and reconnected after the update. otherwise, it was utter chaos of lag.

Sure hope they get macOS Sonoma solid enough to be the LAST Mac operating system to NOT have A.I. driving the OS and for those who don’t want A.I. to control your system or consistently “suggesting” it will do a task for you.

I will probably “park” myself on the bench and watch the development of A.I. for awhile on macOS Sonoma once the next new OS A.I. comes out. This will be the first “parking myself” on a OS since I started my computer experience (always upgraded to the “new” OS for many years).

I like the option right now to have the choice to use A.I. or not…but…once you have in the background “Big Bro” helping you and learning what you are doing to “make your experience better” without having to option to turn it off…REGARDLESS if you select “off” (like Siri is now though it still silently gathers information in the background), sticking with older systems might have to be my option.

With every firmware update, Apple is slowly eliminating the option to load an older OS on your Mac that is able too. After 2024..there will be NO new Mac without the default OS having A.I. in your Mac.

No thanks…may not be updating from macOS Sonoma
Sonoma already has plenty of AI built in.
Same large language model AutoCorrect from iOS 17, object recognition in photos, text recognition in photos, etc.
Even features like optimized battery charging are all about learning your habits and adapting the computer to them.
