Another trick to adjust Magic Mouse speed if you do not want to use system settings slider:

  • Open Terminal, copy and paste:
    • To check value: defaults read -g com.apple.mouse.scaling
    • To change speed: defaults write -g com.apple.mouse.scaling x.x
      • Where x.x is a decimal number between ?.0 and 9.9. For me, 8.5 is pretty good. The higher, the faster. I never tried lower than 7.0

Problems with Spotlight.

Its easier to do by terminal (in utilities)
sudo /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Seeding.framework/Resources/seedutil unenroll

If you want to use PB again
sudo /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Seeding.framework/Resources/seedutil enroll PublicSeed
Any idea on this buddy?

Anyone able to explain the massive change in build number?

I kind of understand their build number, but this has gone to C and not B and the daily build number is 5033 which is a LOT higher than the 380 from the final release.

Thank you very much. I appreciate you and your contributions here. As it turns out I was still enrolled. Thanks again.

Consider it just an extra digit oddity that occasionally occurs. 12.4 was that way last year.
These builds all have that extra digit

iOS 16.2 beta (20C5032e) - October 25, 2022
iPadOS 16.2 beta (20C5032e) - October 25, 2022
macOS 13.1 beta (22C5033e) - October 25, 2022
watchOS 9.2 beta (20S5331e) - October 25, 2022
tvOS 16.2 beta (20K5331f) - October 25, 2022

After iOS 16 was so buggy for me on launch, I decided that I’ll wait for the first .1 or .0.1 update to move to a major version. Hope Ventura isn’t as buggy as iOS 16 has been!

So it would actually be 503, so still 123 builds further along than the final release?

And it being C instead of B even though the .1 release is usually B?

Wow, 36 posts in two days. No ones cares about MacOS
The public release of Ventura was enough to hold most entertained. I don't think the PB for this beta 1 is available yet.
I was thinking last night how fast my 24" iMac shuts down thats running 13.1 beta 1 comparably with multiple applications open. Aside from addition of FreeForm, things seems to be running better.

Anyone sees anything that needs doing besides fixing the breakage of Google Maps 3D in Safari 16 and generally reducing CPU overhead?

3D works fine except some delays of overhead terrain on a 24" M1 iMac using the 13.1 beta 1 Safari. It seems like the server was sometimes lagging a lot when you move around over multiple sectors.
