I am guessing all this beta will have is the new Apple TV app experience that was presented during the iOS 16 portion of the presentation, which are (Lock Screen is obviously not a thing on tvOS but somewhere on the TV app):

And some of these for the Home app:

Where did you get the information that HDR10+ was coming to iOS?

Nevermind. Someone else shared it with me.

I just really wished they'd add a better multi-user support
A) ask on wake-up which user it is (or auto detect based on nearest iPhone or using iPhone as remote)
B) tie app profiles to Apple TV user. So you don't have to select say again when opening Disney+ or Netflix.

This is one three feature asks I've had for years and Apple did add no full screen alerts on incoming calls last year and multistep navigation to maps this year, so guess it's next year?

I could be mistaken...but I thought this was eventually added. Maybe I'm thinking of the Nintendo Switch...
There is a feature, but it requires an additional device, such as an iPhone. No way to do it directly within tvOS, but some other streaming devices can.

I really wish there was a way to sync "Headphone Audio Levels" from tvOS to the Health app on my iPhone when I use my AirPods with my Apple TV.

I’m sure we’ll learn more about tvOS at the September event specially if they’re planning on launching a new HomePod that will run tvOS and may have features that interact with TVs or replace the Apple TV box itself.

The focus has shifted to the TV app for video content, away from apps on the Home Screen. tvOS apps that aren’t streaming video haven’t taken off in all these years. Apple has to rethink Apple TV and I believe they already are.

SharePlay is taking a leading role in how content from apps on one device are shown on other devices. Having Arcade run on an iPhone, iPad or Mac and displayed on a TV is a better way to do apps on a TV.

So instead of having an app on the Apple TV box, they’d live in another device and be streamed via AirPlay to TVs that have it built in or via a simplified AirPlay stick, that just contains the TV app and AirPlay capabilities.

Apple usually introduces technology that is a hint for upcoming changes in other devices. The iPhone camera in macOS and the clip is a great fit for a TV. Start FaceTime on your iPhone, AirPlay to your TV, then clip it over your TV. No need for a FaceTime app for tvOS. I can think of many other examples like this.

This is probably why tvOS wasn’t featured since a major reimagining is in the wings, best introduced at the consumer event in September.

My remote had stopped working on 15.5 so I figured wtf and upgraded to 16 beta 1. Now my remote works. No obvious issues either.

Yikes, AirPlaying everything? I hope not.

The ATV and tvOS hasn't taken off because Apple hasn't paid any attention to it or shown off what it can do compared to the much cheaper competition.

There isn't much support for tvOS third party developers from Apple, and this started with the launch of tvOS and the ATV4, so between that and Apple ignoring the platform, the few developers that gave it a try are leaving.

With no developer interest besides the basic streaming apps, it just makes the Apple TV an overpowered, but overpriced streaming box.

I really had hoped Apple would significantly update the speed in which tvOS responds. It still is quite slow compared to the other OS's in the family, even on the 4K second gen.
Same here. I mainly bought it because it was much smoother than built-in TV OSes. I don't know what happened but it's slow and laggy now.
