So I left the beta program and it still updated to this! Got the red dot saying available even after I chose to leave. What a load of rubbish. I didn't want to do this update but its forced it on me - now back on the beta version and didn't want to be

I see.

I read your pots as saying that you can't use your Apple ID's Continuity on your partner's account.

If switching back to your account breaks Continuity for you, that's unfortunate.

I just tried it on a late-2013 15-inch MacBook Pro running 11.0.1 (20B29), and it works for me:

  1. Opened a page in Safari on my iPhone
  2. My Mac shows it in the Dock as Handoff
  3. Went to Fast User Switching to switch to another account
  4. It doesn't show in that account
  5. Switched back to this account
  6. It shows again
The second account is linked to another Apple ID and I do not expect to be able to use continuity on my phone and the second account. But if I switch back to mine it stops working.

Had the issue for the last 6 years or so. Went through resets, new phones and new macs and all the updates. Just not working.

This just happened to me too last night. I didn't see it ever saying it was available but only I think because I stopped using that computer early enough yesterday evening (in the UK) to miss it. Woke it up in the morning to find it had upgraded.

Like you, I'd left the beta program after the final 11.0.1 upgrade. Note lack of text saying I'm on the beta on the left under the icon. (I turned off automatic updates *after* that...)

No actual *problems* with it noticed so far, but...

Same issue...Glad to see it's not just me. Fortunately I was able to stop it from auto updating. I'm getting an M1 MacBook Air and will most likely sell my MBP so I don't want a beta OS on it.

I recommend removing from iCloud then wiping and reinstalling the OS through Recovery before selling it.

I am running into a bug where if I watch YouTube using safari at 2x playback speed, the video is at 2x but the audio is still at 1x. Does anyone know a fix for this or I'll probably have to wait till the next release?
Im having this exact same issue

Relax. It wasn't clear from your original post that's what you meant, we interpreted that you want Continuity from the same iPhone to work across two accounts / two Apple IDs.

That does sounds like a frustrating issue. Have you replicated it on different computers? Tried reinstalling MacOS? Reported it to Apple?
Reported 13 times, reinstalled several versions of iOS and macOS over the years, had new devices, no solution. I am sure anyone could replicate this on their Mac. I have a brand new iPhone 12 pro and a brand new MacBook Air M1, not restored from backup. And it still happens.
Now it is actually worse because rebooting isn't enough to get it back to operation but I need to log out of iCloud and log in again, which means re downloading 4000 photos from iCloud every time too.
It works Mac to iPhone but the Mac doesn't see the iPhone so iPhone to Mac it doesn't work. I don't care much about handoff, I need continuity camera and that simply doesn't work.

If you try on your Mac I am sure you will be able to replicate.

On my M1 MBA this bet update broke Lightroom, which had loaded fine before (also, the rest of Creative cloud seems fine). Now it crashes before the window appears while trying to open every time, even after I tried reinstalling a couple of times. Anyone else have similar errors with Rosetta apps, or is it just Adobe?

I am getting this too. I watch pretty much every video at 1.75x speed so I stopped using Safari and switched to Brave just for this problem. I submitted a bug report and I hope it gets fixed in the next release.

I've had this exact same problem for years. My wife and I both share an iMac and MBP, but we've been through several Macs and several fresh installs and the problem always comes back. Sometimes disabling Bluetooth and re-enabling will fix it for the current user but it comes back after user switching. I've reported it several times but mostly have just learned to live with it.

Well, I am updating as I type this as removing the beta profile has not worked for me. A MR member gave me the command line to remove myself from the program that way, but I still have to download this one.

Not possible to download the non beta from the app store as it's 'older' than my beta. Oh well...

No way, I’m embroiled in a big back and forth with customer support. I won’t give up this time around. About time they stop releasing half baked features.
