After last year I am not going anywhere near the first couple of Watch 3.0 betas. If last year's betas ran like a dog on the current watch, what's it going to be like on a version of the OS that is built for the next Watch?

I am hoping that they have devoted as much effort into performance tuning the current functionality as they have in adding new features, but that is probably being too optimistic...

The sport versions have come down enough in price to have one on the current version and one on the new with both connected to the phone at the same time.

Side note: I said earlier I feel like I loaded 2.2.2 Beta 1 a while back, still feel like I did but could not have. Maybe I live in two alternate time zones or something. I must still be thinking about 2.2.1 betas...anyhow, back to the topic at hand.

seems smoother than 2.2.1 final (13V420) i have several stutters on watch carousel ( swiping through app icons, returning back to clock screen ) now it looks like stutters are all gone away and gives much more fluid experience.

overall it's faster that 2.2.1. this beta is the best watch release all time..for now :)

How's the battery? And if you workout, how is the battery with it during a workout?

I'm not convinced there was a previous 2.2.2 beta. I'm normally all over the betas. When iOS 2.2.2 beta 1 came out I downloaded it to install onto my phone, I then tried to download it to install on my 9.7" iPad pro, and it wasn't available. I then looked to see if there was a WatchOS beta. I didn't install 2.2.2 beta 1 on my phone and I would have done for sure had there been a WatchOS beta available to go with it.

that's a bug fix update,i'm not expecting more differences between 2.2.1. i'm on the 2nd day of watchOS 2.2.2 beta 1 and i can easily say, it's more fluid than 2.2.1 . didn't see any issues so far.

if 9.3.3 will be released after WWDC event next monday, watchOS 2.2.2 may be the identical build with 2.2.2 beta 1..as we see on 2.2.1 beta 2 (13V420) :)
