Since updating my iPhone 13 Pro, I am no longer to connect to my phone's Personal Hotspot from my MacBook Pro. Restarting both devices and makng sure all the settings were proper has not helped. Error message on MacBook reads, "Failed to enable Personal Hotspot on iPhone". My carrier is AT&T. First beta in a long time I've had any problem with.

Hallelujah, biggest total surprise for me after installing this is that ever since iOS 17 came out, I’ve had a phantom HomeKit Hub a non-existent default room that was undeletable because it happened while I was updating my second generation HomePods—something glitched during the process and I had to reset them and add them back, but for God knows why one of them left this imaginary hub that has shown “not responding” ever since. I’ve been agonizing over whether I should delete my entire HomeKit setup and start over to get rid of this, but this latest beta made it go poof!

Now if it comes back after updating to the next release, I’m really going to regret posting this…

I wonder if anybody with the smarts can find anything related to the new iPads in the OS. I saw 9to5 say a squeeze pencil 3 gesture of some sort was found in the OS.

15 PM.
in my Battery settings,

I now see..

CHARGING_TITLE and then..

Optimized Battery Charging
CHARGING_FIXEC_LIMIT
CHARGING_OFF

i guess someone forgot to change the last 2 to 80% and off..

For the US users there is literally nothing besides podcast widget tweak that's now gonna take 2 months of testing.

Well, well... Europe wanting freedom now. Very ironic!
EU has always been much more customer/personal centric compared to the US which more often sides with the business, unless Democrats are the ones deciding. It's why if you look at the FCC when its left leaning it sides with users and people, and heling make their bills easier to read and protecting their privacy, and if its Right leaning it sides with large ISP's being large evil *******s.

I usually install every beta... but sitting this one out. 3 weeks of nothing and then they put this steaming pile out? Just looking at the review videos it looks very rough. Unlocalised strings showing in the UI is either sloppy QA, or they don't care. Seems very Europe focussed anyway. Their horrible implementation of web downloading apps got me thinking, if they treated MacOS users with this much contempt, I'd go back to Windows. In their war with the EU, they've forgotten about user experience. I usually love you Apple, but lately, you're a bunch of *****.

False. They made significant improvements to HomeKit. This resolved an issue I had since iOS 17 came out with a leftover hub in a default room that I couldn’t delete, and the whole app is behaving differently now—connection to devices is much improved and my camera windows open up just about instantaneously now. There may not be new big features yet (it’s the first beta), but there’s definitely evidence of work done under the hood. There’s also new modem firmware.

Let me know when 17.5.1 is out then I'll update :) Don't want Apple to break anything again.

Not much in the way of SDK notes

New Features

  • To respect users’ privacy, apps calling CMAltimeter’s startRelativeAltitudeUpdatesToQueue and stopRelativeAltitudeUpdates are now required to include the NSMotionUsageDescription string in their plist in order to receive data.
Apps built with SDKs prior to iOS 17.5 and watchOS 10.5 without the NSMotionUsageDescription string in their plists will not receive data.
Apps built with iOS 17.5 and watchOS 10.5 or later will crash if they do not have the NSMotionUsageDescriptionstring in their plist as described in CMAltimeter. (125573971)

StoreKit

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed an issue where the Terms of Service button on SubscriptionStoreView could cause a crash when tapped. (123383479)
