What things need to be "ironed out"?

There's bugs all over the OS ... most annoying is still dealing with issues when I try to text boxes (e.g. this forum box).
In safari, some sort of blank screen slides in front of the text box and you can't see what you're typing.

A simple example of when I try to type into the login / password / 2FA boxes for login into these forums. Happens like 85% of the time you try to fill in any sort of text form in Safari.

This is just one of many many many bugs.

Personally, I'm most excited for iOS 27.

I think that's most likely when things will finally be ironed out to the point where I'll be interested in joining in.

The last time Apple introduced a major overhaul (iOS 7), they manage to fix all the **** going on only by iOS 12. So don’t get too excited!

26.2 beta fixes a bug I was experiencing starting in 26.1 beta where Pencil Pro was not being recognized by my M4 iPad Pro.

I bet unnecessary shadow effects on bottom and top of the screen that decreases usable screen space are still there! Its been 6 months and they are not fixing it!

No iOS betas during the holidays. Made that mistake before. LOL.

True, but 26.2 public release is expected to be out in December. Then 26.3 beta 1 will drop, and we probably won't see beta 2 until 2nd week of January. Props to those who have the guts to run a 1st beta for what could end up being a month (or to those who are smart enough to run it only on their secondary device, which I am not)

26.1 improved battery significantly over 26.0.1. Would be awesome if 26.2 is even better but I doubt it. I guess we will know in a day or so. I'm holding off on trying it because i'm in love with my battery life on my 17 pro right now lol.

If battery is in any way a factor for you, don’t install any beta. The OS itself may or may not improve the battery life, but there’s some extra processes specially for beta testing. Just don’t do beta if not for fun and/or living on the edge 😼

The Battery life was already amazing on the 17 Pro Max before 26.1. I doubt it’s any better unless they have a new modem firmware update that makes 5g battery usage amazing.

Finally back to 1PM EST releases hopefully

My experience has been that most/all developer/public betas are usually released at 10:00am PT/1:00pmET. Final releases usually released at 1:00pm PT/4:00pm ET.
