I put my Homepod mini back in the box less than an hour after buying it, because it was excessively bass-heavy.

How do I enable this "reduce bass" option?

@Yvan256

Two ways to achieve the same thing:

A). "Hey Siri, turn off the bass".

B). Go to the home app, tap on your homepod card, and scroll down until you see a "reduce bass" toggle. Enable it.

Done.

Other than the SERIOUS amount of bugs that need fixing, one simple feature we need is to have more control over voice volume. Or fix the auto-volume feature so she speaks at the right volume based on music and how loud you shout at her.

At present, she always speaks soooooo quietly I can't hear her. Turning her voice up only works until I change music volume again and she's back to being quiet.

Homepods OG have become completely useless since last update. Really hopes this gets fixed. PLaying a song from ym iphone and then moving it to the homepod is a crime. Controls are often 15-30 seconds behind, so raising the volume in the music app, will see it raise actual volume 20 or so seconds later if the song is playing at all. Homepods mini working a bit better, but also lots of issues with siri comands as mentioned above.... Huh? what? hmmmm.....

Like with older iphones getting performance throttled with updates, i strongly believe the original large homepods are getting broken on purpose to act slow so the new ones coming out get bought... </conspiracy>

Fingers crossed for stability. The only device having issues with wifi in my home
Exactly randomly she will just freak out and either take forever or just never do anything. And out of nowhere stuff will work again. And no other network devices ever have issues.

Oh well guess even Apple acknowledge it is dangerous to install Beta Software on those. Shame they turned out to be so "fragile", sound-wise they're stellar.
And that's the only stellar thing. She's so unrelable on doing anything else.

Considering how buggy HomeKit is in iOS 15, how can it get any worse! Installing... Seriously though, betas are still "tested" pieces of software just like "final" releases of software are, for whatever it is worth. There will be bugs... get used to it.
I don't understand why tapping a device in home goes into the settings instead of toggling on/off. Used to get into settings by holding. Is there some toggle somewhere. So annoying when she decides to freak out that i have to tap and slide now instead of just tapping

Try tapping the area around the icon of the item/device. It's not clear (or clearly defined), but that icon is a toggle.

Sorry as not anything to do with new release, but would anyone have any suggestions why in my own 'Home' I don't have admin rights, but my son and daughter who I invited to my 'Home' do???

Followed by... "somethings taking a little to long"

Followed by doing the thing you asked. Or only half of what you asked. Or none of it.
We recently switched ISP, and in the process we got rid of the mediocre ISP provided modem and router and switched to a name brand mesh network. Since then, all the common issues that I too experienced regularly with siri on HomePod have vanished. It has been several weeks and all commands have gone through. I haven’t once experienced Siri timing out.

I still have (and love) my AirPort Express, to connect my home audio system to Airplay, etc. Only since this update, if I try to control it via the Home app, it only plays for a second or two before cutting out. I've completely reset the AirPort Express, removed the accessory and re-added it, and nothing works. It plays, but just for a moment. It's driving me crazy.
