Apple today provided public beta testers with the first releases of upcoming iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1, macOS Tahoe 26.1, and watchOS 26.1 updates for testing purposes. Apple seeded the betas to developers earlier this week.

After signing up for beta testing on Apple's beta site, public beta testers can download the updates using the Software Update section in the Settings app on each device.

iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1, and macOS Tahoe 26.1 expand Apple Intelligence to new languages, including Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, Chinese (Traditional), and Vietnamese.

AirPods Live Translation is also available in Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Chinese (both Mandarin Traditional and Simplified) in iOS 26.1.

There are a few other minor changes to apps like Photos, Music, and Phone, with details available in our iOS 26.1 features guide.

More interested in what changes there is in Music in since what was installed with macOS Tahoe 26 completely messed Music up on my machines. Why is it Apple can't leave well enough alone or add features with out messing up what was working on the previous version.

Brazil was supposed to receive sideloading app stores in the 26.1 version next month. I wonder when it will actually become available for us.

This seems to be the same build as Developer Beta 26.1 (25B5042k) that was released yesterday. No changes, same exact build.
It's unavailable to me as a 26.1 db1 user

Hmm, I suppose the hypertension notifications are also gone in the public beta then.

Lost Face ID twice in the first week and had to do two hard resets to get it back.

Both phones in the house also lost email passwords yesterday. Again a hard reset brought them back.

Trying this out in desperation to see if it improves battery on my Air
You bought the iPhone with the smallest battery and you're worried about battery issues? Do you even? if you got battery issues on the Air Apple made an "extra battery pack" you can attach to your super slim phone.....to make it bigger than ALL the other phones. Good job dude, that's enough internet for the day.

The glow around the edges when using Siri is no longer showing as it now is just the old globe at the bottom of the screen. Using an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Any others notice this bug?

I have no complaints with the battery life on my Air. I am not a heavy user at all. My phone is usually on the charger for ~2 hours each morning. My 16Pro was usually at mid to low 60% before charging on weekdays. Monday it was 57%, Tuesday it was 60% and this morning it was 63%.

For sure, this phone is not for everyone though.

Personally,I am liking it a lot.

The build code is 23B5044l actually and it is the same for the Public Beta.
I don't know if the next Beta will sync the two branch into the same build and time.
