Apple today seeded the fourth beta of an upcoming iOS 11.4.1 update to developers and public beta testers, one week after seeding the third beta and a month after releasing iOS 11.4, an update that introduced AirPlay 2 and Messages in iCloud.

Registered developers can download the new iOS 11.4.1 beta from Apple's Developer Center or over-the-air once the proper configuration profile has been installed from the Developer Center. Public beta testers can also install the update over-the-air with the public beta profile.

No new features were discovered in the first three iOS 11.4.1 betas, suggesting it focuses on bug fixes and performance improvements to address issues discovered since the release of iOS 11.4.

We'll update this post should we discover any new features in the fourth iOS 11.4.1 beta, but we're not expecting major changes now that Apple has shifted its focus to iOS 12, which is also available to developers for beta testing purposes.

Rhetorical question: Is fourth beta 11.4.1 better than iOS beta 12?

Can't compare. Consider 11.4.1 as one of last updates to a stable code base that is 11.4. 12 beta is in the stage where it is one of first updates to a release that has lots of new code in it. If you want stability, 11.4 is where it's at. If you like to live on the edge, then 12 is it.

One BUG I would like to see fixed is when using the IOS Mail application on either iPhone or iPad. When you select an e-mail to delete by swiping left, and then a new e-mail arrives, guess which gets deleted. NOT the one you started to select and swipe but the new e-mail. That needs to be fixed.

My iPhone 7 Plus battery has been nothing but horrible. Wonder if it’s the beta or time for a battery replacement. I am at 89% health tho

The article says there’s no new features in 11.4.1.
Has the USB switch been removed in beta 4? Can someone confirm?

I haven't experienced that, but I'm really hoping the stock Apps get some bugs worked out in either this 11.4.1 or I guess iOS12. Why doesn't the Apple mail App push the mail fast enough? I've had both Mail and Yahoo Mail on to test, and the stock Mail App is always behind on iOS 11.4. Does this beta address that?

The Mail App in general seems to have too many problems and not enough features. I started using the Yahoo Mail App and it's a lot better.

My 6s was at 84% when it went into protected mode. It was one of the "special" ones so I got a free battery.

Only two more builds since last beta, getting closer and could be GM.

It not GM when its 43 megs...
[doublepost=1529960302][/doublepost]Probably the last beta before release next week, then PB for IOS 12 probably will be live.

Early reports on beta 4 (few users on Reddit) are battery drain is fixed in beta 3, and no adverse battery drain in the last hour on this beta. YRMV

Small point releases aren’t big downloads. For example, 11.2.6 was a 148 megs depending on your phone.

I hope the stuttering audio gets fixed. It seems to be something that has popped up for a lot of people in the last six months.

I still have periodic video blurring when live-streaming from my iPad Air 2, via Safari to my Apple TV4 (also no newest PB) via screen mirroring.

Seems to otherwise run well on that and my iPhone 6S.

Every day I use Apple Notes. The feature I would like to see is the search box remain persistant. At present as you scroll through your notes the search box disappears. To make the seach box appear you either manually scroll to the top of your Notes list, or at the top of the Notes list tap an obscure area that makes the notes automatically scroll to the top then the search box appears. Very odd behavior.

I’m of the opinion that Apple made many of its standard apps to demonstrate basic functionality without committing the resources to make them very good.
