Apple today seeded the fourth beta of an upcoming iOS 12.1.3 update to developers and public beta testers, a few days after releasing the third beta and three weeks after releasing iOS 12.1.2.

Registered developers can download the new iOS 12.1.3 beta from Apple's Developer Center or over-the-air once the proper configuration profile has been installed from the Developer Center, while public beta testers can get the beta over-the-air.

The fourth iOS 12.1.3 beta is technically the third beta, but because iOS 12.1.3 includes the same updates that were supposed to be included in the iOS 12.1.2 beta that was already released, Apple released the initial iOS 12.1.3 as a second beta rather than a first beta.

Apple seeded just one beta of iOS 12.1.2 before tweaking the software to include some emergency bug fixes and the aforementioned software changes in China, rushing the update out and pushing content originally planned for iOS 12.1.2 to iOS 12.1.3 instead.

iOS 12.1.3 will mark the fourth update to iOS 12. We don't yet know what features are included, and no major changes have been found in the iOS 12.1.3 betas we've received thus far. If we find anything new in the fourth iOS 12.1.3 beta, we'll update this post.

Normally I back up all my devices before installing beta software. This time I don’t think I will, since I very recently did.

I was just trying a pro instead than vs. meaningless comment about Apple. I see the result is still inviting snarky meaningless comment anyway :(

How efficient. I suppose you don’t recharge until your battery is low ?

I'll miss the stability of this upcoming release after 13 drops.

This is coming pretty quickly after the 3rd beta. Hopefully they're getting ready to go to release.

Modem firmware got a slight bump. Went from 1.03.07 to 1.03.08.
So it looks like they're still actively trying to address the modem issues.

I got my iPad Pro and iPad Mini updated, but my iPhone XS still doesn't see it. Is there a way to trigger it anyway?

Wauw. The world will enjoy maintaining connections crossing the Beludjistan border with South Afghanistan for dual-SIM camel drivers...

I have heard of folks stating once they get over the first or second "hump" they usually do okay. :)

I want someone to sing this paragraph to the tune of "I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major General" from Pirates Of Penzance.

Probably next week, unless there's really something along the lines of an emergency that gets them to push it out earlier.

    I'm afraid to install b4.
b2 (beta 1, really) battery life was awful - abysmal. I was skiing in colorado, and heard every rationalization (excuse) - it's the altitude, it's the cold, etc. Reality? The battery life on b2 was CRAP.
b3 has been great. Like my phone has been off charger for 15 hours and my battery is 71%.
As others have noted, apps don't crash - which I think was the root of my battery issues (crash > reload = battery drain).

Yep... getting better, but still has issues. I notice my XS is doing better at holding onto a weak cell signal vs dropping into no service.
