Apple today seeded the fourth beta of an upcoming macOS 10.15.4 update to developers for testing purposes, one week after seeding the third beta and more than a month after releasing macOS Catalina 10.15.3.

The new ??macOS Catalina?? beta can be downloaded using the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences after installing the proper software from the Developer Center.

macOS Catalina 10.15.4 includes Screen Time Communication Limits, a feature first brought to the iPhone in the iOS 13.3 update, and it brings a new Head Pointer Accessibility option that allows the cursor to be controlled with head movements using the Mac's camera.

Real-time lyrics are included in macOS 10.15.4, bringing an iOS feature introduced in iOS 13 to the Mac. Real-time lyrics allow the lyrics for a song to scroll in real-time to the music so you can follow along with what's being sung.

References to AMD processors have also been discovered in the macOS 10.15.4 beta, leading to speculation that Apple is working on AMD-based Macs, but these references could simply be for internal testing rather than evidence of an AMD Mac.

Though not directly related to macOS Catalina 10.15.4, Apple is adding a new universal purchase option for macOS and iOS apps, which will allow Apple device users to purchase one app that works across multiple platforms.

And the overheating issue with the MacBook Pro 16-inch when connected to an external monitor!!
[automerge]1583260725[/automerge]
Anyone with the MacBook Pro 16-inch having having overheating issues when connected to an external monitor was able to install this update to see if there any improvement?

Also curious about audio popping fix, and external monitor fixes. My issue is with wake from sleep, but yeah, dealing with these bugs for way too long.

I suspect those are going to be in 10.15.5, which is the one Otoy is waiting for. Would love to be wrong; macOS development/support feels glacial at the moment.

Is there anywhere more info on this can be found? What's so special about 10.5.5 and Metal?

Mail app keeps opening by itself.

iPhone still not syncing as it should.

Continuity/handoff when using multiuser Mac still not working.

The most ridiculous macOS release. Give me snow leopard back please

A couple of weeks ago there was a poster here saying his stocks App opened after each restart, I said he could find this in Users & groups/Login Items, preventing an App from opening after a restart, didn't help, I do have the same issue, 2 Apps open even if they are not in Login Items, Calculator and Spotify, looks everywhere, can't solve the problem, must be a bug.

Mojave was better than Snow Leopard.

If you go to ”Preferences” in the Spotify menu and click ”Show Advanced Settings” at the bottom you should then see a section called ”Startup and Window Behaviour”. What do you have set there?

If Calculator starts automatically it sounds like you might have something in ~/Library/LaunchAgents (i.e. the Library folder in your home folder which is hidden by default, but can be accessed if holding down the option/alt key while clicking the ”Go” menu in the Finder) that starts it for some reason.

Continuity/handoff when using multiuser Mac still not working is just ridiculous, are Apple expecting Macs to single user?

Public B4 will not upgrade on my '18 Mini. It starts to update but immediately stops, like it cannot seem to write to the disk. It will immediately reboot and go back to the login screen.

I no longer care :)
the performance was pathetic on 2016 Macbook & 2015 iMac.I did everything including fresh install.
downgraded to Mojave.
Undeniably faster,more responsive.
Miss nothing.
Catalina was the WORST version of Mac OS,I’ve used them all since Snow Leppard.
Catalina= Vista

Strange. I think Catalina is at least as fast as Mojave.
