Beta 4 was listed, but after downloading, installing, and rebooting, the app store shows beta 3 as the most recent install, and 4 is not listed. The installed build (15F31a) is right, though.

The same here. App Store is rather erratic in this aspect, Beta 3 used to show up twice, now it's just once, beta 4 is missing but installed.

10.11.4 released ? probably about time i get a new Mac with one me thinks...... It's waited long enough.

When we get the real disk utility back and open/save dialogues remember settings, I'll think about about it. WhenTF is the delightfully minimal and sufficient cpu usage LED type display going to be restored? I'm seriously over the screen hogging cpu bar graph we've been lumbered with since 10.7 that was introduced in 10.0. Why do I care, you may ask? Since 10.7, the number and frequency of resources hogging runaway processes has steadily increased in spite of lip service to energy saving. Mail anyone? What about MDS, etc, that will suck the battery dry in no time. Why do they randomly go off at 100's of percent cpu even if no power is connected, never mind the data plan destroying background processes that still don't recognise when you've desperately connected via your mobile device.
Till these get sensible, I'll bury my head in the past. It's beginning to feel like they're borrowing the worst bits of Windows.

No changes in Disk Utility. It's always the first thing I look at. Why can't they even manage to let us resize the window??? o_O
It's been FCP'd, just like anyone who cares. Like Siracusa, it makes me sad.

Encountered a strange problem.
As well as the OS X beta update, there was an update to XCode.

I'm not sure if it's related to the beta, but there's an anomaly with the update for XCode.
The update wouldn't work, so I cancelled it.
I uninstalled XCode, or thought I did because I'd 'removed' it using Launchpad.
Xcode.app was for some reason still on the disk.
Xcode is no longer listed in Launchpad, yet Launchpad has begun to download the should be canceled update without permission.

Thankfully, going into the 'Purchases' tab of the App Store allowed me to abort the download.

I hope this beta/final version fixes my wifi connect when my iMac comes out of sleep. When I come out of sleep, internet never works with my asus router. I have to turn off wifi, turn it back on, then wifi works fine. Annoying

I had problems with XCode update too. First it updated the app, but App Store didn't register it so in Purchased tab XCode was stuck at waiting. So I uninstalled and now I am downloading it at abysmal speed. And one more thing that bugs me is that in mac App Store XCode icon is missing, it's just white space.

Yeah, it's the same for me, just whitespace, no icon.
There's a few other apps with the same anomaly.

djay Pro is one such application, again whitespace, no icon.

Maybe there's a problem with the App Store?

Yeah, djay Pro is problematic for me too! I am 100% sure it is server-sided problem.
And btw, don't forget, there is awlays a problem with App Store!

Every time i see a thin laptop on the main page here (before i read the headline), i cross my fingers and pray it is the new Retina MacBook Air...
Bummer ... :/

There is already one it's called the Mac book pro 13inch.
Smaller than an air, same width, faster and only drawback is the slightly heavier weight. Why do people still want an air? I don't get it

...and I though we were all the beta testers all along. Even since ElCapitan, my MacBook Pro does not properly go to sleep and wake up anymore when I close the lid. It immediately suspends to disk and then shuts down. I guess thats normal for such an "old" machine...so I must buy a new one now?

I have noticed one very welcome improvement with this latest beta release: Time Machine is far quicker. So far in El Capitan, Time Machine using my Time Capsule has been extremely slow to populate its windows, making it almost unusable. In the latest version, the icons appear almost as soon as I select the backup to use.

I've been frustrated by flaky mounting of external USB drives which manifested itself after 10.11.4. We're on the fourth beta of the 10.11.5 release and Apple hasn't managed to fix that. Is it just me?

I have lost hope that Apple will fix Disk Utility in 10.11.x. Maybe in 10.12 but I'm not holding my breath.

USB has been very unreliable in all 10.11.x versions in my experience. I don't know what changes Apple made to USB but all my drives and other USB devices work fine in Mavericks but in El Capitan they are unreliable. I'm going to stay in Mavericks unless Apple can fix the problem.

That USB thing is really strange on the Late 2015 5K iMacs. I don't know if it still exists in that way, because I don't have it anymore.

From all USB ports only the first one recognized USB 3.0 devices, but they ran at USB 2.0 speed, the other ports worked only with USB 2.0 devices.

And what's really strange it only happened in the betas. Everything worked fine with the final versions of 10.11 (a special newer build because of Skylake), 10.11.1, 10.11.2 and 10.11.3 but not in a single beta of them.

I think I had even a beta of 10.11.4 on it, before I sold the iMac and it still had the same problem as the last beta of 10.11.3, but not the final version of 10.11.3 and all other finals before.

Does anyone know if this is fixed in the betas of 10.11.5 or later 10.11.4 betas? There were some people here, that had exactly the same problem.

Same here. Actually my update install stalled when 8 minutes left. fans running high and no change. Hard reset, system recovered and shows latest beta build installed but the app store updates does not show beta 4.

I'm not sure if this has to do with the beta, but I've experienced it some days after installing it.
Every once in a while my internet connection will inexplicably fail, pages not loading or anything despite there being a connection.

It's always reported as a DNS error.
Changing the DNS server to a different one fixes it for some time, but eventually it happens again, and I have to change the DNS server again.
