And does release candidate usually differ from its previous beta ? In this case beta 4

I do not know, whether it "usually" does not differ from the previous beta. But in this case I can confirm, that the RC is in fact the Beta 4.

Isn’t beta 4 different from this RC? They are not the same.
The RC code usually removes any debugging code left behind used by Apple to collect data about the beta quality. This is generally what makes a "beta" to be promoted to "release candidate". The Release Candidate ends up most of the time being the same shipped as final to non-developers, however sometimes last-minute changes are implemented on the final, non-developers code, and the actual release is different from the RC.

I read at some point previously on these forums that 26.1 fixes the stuttering on the newer iPads when you swipe right to load the App Library. Would anyone be able to verify if that is the case?

I was expecting good battery life on my iPhone 17 Pro but it hasn’t been anything worth talking about. I’ve been through one iPhone 17 Pro Max and two iPhone 17 Pro (kept the second one) and the battery on all three devices has been subpar. Of course maybe it’s just me. I hope my battery life goes up with the new release.

I have nothing installed that would account for it, play no games, and have background off on all but a couple of apps. My phone lost 7% just sitting there overnight. When I looked in the battery information the only thing that used the battery was Find My.

I’m stuck with this phone for a year minimum. If the battery life doesn’t improve by next year, I trade it for an 18whatever and hope for better results.

IPAD OS update to 26.1 is still stalling out at the end ... wont finish ... same as 26.0.0 and 26.0.1 ... DFU #3 and restore ... yeist

Sigh.

Cooking and kneading bread, hands covered in wet dough. Timer goes off. Only way to silence now is to smear dough on the screen or listen to the timer's beeps for the entire minute. Tap with the back of your hand no longer works.

Fair enough alarm clocks, but why exactly do timers need a slider to silence them?

Does nobody at Apple cook?

You can tell Siri to turn off the timer, also. That’s what I do

Not even Tim, apparently

Been riding this 26 beta train since day one. woo! lets go! RC time means it's almost "ready" but if I'm honest, liquid glass still feels half baked and overall not a great UI improvement. I mean just watching a video on Safari and watch those liquid glass controls cover your screen into impossible to interpret icons. I seriously wanna slapstick the UI genius that gave us this...

My battery has been fantastic, pretty much in line with every hours claim Apple has made. Gets through the whole day easy with heavy usage, usually with half left. I went through and disabled a bunch of location services and think it made it worse :)

Any change to the flashes that happen in text boxes (such as in Messages) when you tap or highlight something?
