god im sitting here for the last 1hr trying to figure out why mine download button for beta 7 is grey. I finally noticed that a quick pop up would show up stating i need at least 7xx megs of storage available. Deleted a gig worth of music and it finally started downloading.

They should change that pop up to say you dont have enough space, not just this download requires whatever amount.

Well when it says it requires a certain amount, it usually means you don't have it.

OTA update killed my iPhone and now left it on recovery mode.....now I'll have to restore my iPhone to beta 7.....ahhhh that's what you get when playing with betas.

Did the same to mine....just download the file and restore to it that way?

Installed the update to my ip4 just fine OTA on wifi. Well, downloaded it anyway; couldn't actually install till I was plugged in since battery was at 30%. After install I rebooted the phone out of habit & don't know if this is normal but apps that were in the multitask tray before the update were still there after the update & even after the reboot. Kind of odd. Just be sure to go thru the tray and close out apps either before or after the install else they may be in some funky state I would think.

I don't see any new features. Only bug I have found is you have to re sync your music. Small price to pay because it really is smoking fast. It's like I just got a new phone.

Happy to here it's snappier than all previous betas. Probably means GM is on the horizon! :)

Did the same to mine. Now I have to drive across town to resync with my work computer if I want a phone tonight.

My photos won't sync at all. After iTunes tries, the sync freezes and I just have to unplug my iPad/iPhone. I've tried "erase all content and settings" and still no dice. This was happening in beta 6 too, for what it's worth.

Weird, mine synced fine.

You should not be worried on that part since the OTA only modifies "system" partition and none of the apps ("Data") should be touched.

Seems that a lot of people had this problem, judging from the discussions from the frontpage article.

Just deleted my iPod Photo cache and same issue. Syncs fine until it gets to photos. Then it hangs at "Waiting for items to copy." I guess I'll just go without syncing photos until the GM.

same happened to me be careful guys.

Beta 7 installed fine for me the second time around.

I actually restored my "bricked" phone from the beta 7 ipsw and its working great!! this is definetly the fastest my Iphone 4 has been since 4.2.8 :D everything is just nice and smooth gonna resync my library and run a battery test.

Not to be redundant if this has already been asked/addressed (didn't read through every post), but in comparison to beta 6:

Faster?
Better battery?
Any other notables?

Faster and smoother - yes
Battery - too early to say

Notables - none so far,

clean upgrade, no data loss or what so ever...

I used to think this was odd too.
It has nothing to do with the beta -- iOS4 does this after every reboot also.
I was told that it's because the multitask tray isn't really a multitask tray -- it's a recently used tray.
Yes, you can use it to shutdown an app but it isn't meant to be a meter of which apps are currently running or not.
It's only a record of apps that were recently accessed.
