Crap - I don't have Mavericks installed anymore - so now what do I do to get my phone back...
downloaded GM update via dev site, started to update, phone crashed and now it's crashes iTunes every time i plug it in! Now what? Does it on any computer too?!
I know right.
Sitting in front of the tv refreshing the H out of the "live" stream to apple watch it again later. Another two hours...
for iOS 6 and iOS 7 non-devs were able to update to the GM version without apple checking for dev accounts when validating the install.... Users would have to find the iOS file somewhere online though but it was do-able.
Does it require registering UUID?
This is correct. UDIDs are not checked for GM.
I think everything of theirs is getting slammed today. I had trouble just downloading the free song of the week!
So has anyone actually been able to download ota?
I swear I see this question every year... GM is the final version aka the same version that is going to come out on the 17th so yes you can install it with out being a dev.
You will need to delete iTunes 12, and reinstall iTunes 11, this is a known bug. Search, you will have to download an app that will allow you to delete iTunes, since it is required by the OS. Then download iTunes 11, and try again. There are a few articles floating around on how to do all that.downloaded GM update via dev site, started to update, phone crashed and now it's crashes iTunes every time i plug it in! Now what? I've had several people on other sites tell me the exact opposite. This is why I ask.
Having the same issue with iTunes crashing while trying to install the GM under Yosemite. My phone is now bricked until this is fixed. Don't have a Mavericks install close by. GG Apple. :/
Just to warn everyone before you install - I'm having major issues with iTunes right now while trying to do the update !! iTunes keeps crashing..
Any chance to b*tch and moan. You people cease to amaze.
Download iTunes 11, and move your iTunes library to somewhere besides the default folder. Then use App Zapper to Zap iTunes 12, then install itunes 11. Proceed with update to GM and once it has updated, go to mac app store to update itunes to v12 and then move your iTunes library back.

I disagree. I think the watch is exactly what Steve would have done, and in fact, I bet Steve helped with its design prior to his passing. This has been in the works since they cancelled the iPod Nano that everyone was already turning into a watch.
Intuitive interface, NFC payment, multiple health monitors etc. If you own a fitbit (or UP, Withings, etc etc) and an iPhone, you'll most likely be getting this to replace it for the added functionality. All of that paired with WatchKit, and suddenly you'll be able to pay for your Starbucks on the way to the golf course, where your watch will be able to track your game and how far you hit your shots based on what club you're using, and then get directions back to your BMW. Think about who this device is FOR and you'll realize it's exactly what it should be...
