Apple continues its trend of weekly releases of Mac OS X 10.6.5 developer builds today by pushing Build 10H535 to registered developers. The release marks an increment of four builds since last week's release.

According to those familiar with the new build, Apple continues to ask developers to focus their testing on the same six areas as in the previous build: 3D Graphics, iCal, Mail, QuickTime, Time Machine, and USB Devices.

The one documented known issue from the previous build, involving issues with USB devices operating after waking from sleep on machines with VMware installed is still present, but has been expanded to also include machines running Parallels.

A date for the public release of Mac OS X 10.6.5 is unknown, as Apple's development cycle can be highly variable. Mac OS X 10.6.4 was released in mid-June, soon after Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference.

I cannot wait until new iCal/Mail features are implemented. I have the benefit of using (yes, BENEFIT!) Office 2010 and Outlook is now a godsend

Please Apple, fix the USB bug for VMWare before releasing this. That would definitely be a show stopper for me

Are there problems with 10.6.4? I didn't pay much attention to it at the time.
Valve and Blizzard went so far as to recommend users not upgrade to 10.6.4 and stick to 10.6.3 due to serious regressions in the graphics drivers so I guess it could be classified as problematic. :eek: Of course, the Snow Leopard Graphics Update has since come out on top of 10.6.4 to address the issue and even improve things over 10.6.3.

I trust you've actually filed a report with them? They can't fix problems that people don't know about.

3D Graphics == Graphic Drivers Update 2.0 ?

I dunno but maybe the 1.0 Graphic Drivers update did something but not as expected, SC 2 still runs terrible even in my iMac 27'', (30 fps) for this computer its too low. I think there many things that can be improved, and of course Blizzard has to do its part also release a patch fixing all the leaks and stuff they are having under the Mac OS client.

This way apple can really market the iMac as a gaming platform otherwise that ad should be removed because its pure ******** and Apple its lying us BIG TIME!.

Unless there are some Easter Eggs we're not hearing about, this seems to be just kind of a bug-fix/stability update, which is of course disappointing and awesome at the same time. (Love me a Rock-Solid OS). They must have updated the Graphics Drivers again, however. Otherwise, they wouldn't be focusing on 3D graphics in the release notes again.

Mail Rules extending off screen work around

Has anyone discovered that Mail preferences/rules window problem has been fixed?

When more than 25 rules are entered the Rules Window will extend off the bottom of the screen taking the control buttons off screen.

This is confirmed problem that has existed since 10.4.

I'm thinking that apple is now taking 3D gaming seriously. They've been putting "3D Graphics" in the notes rather often nowadays, probably largely due to steam being released for mac.
