Note: Studio Display Firmware 15.5 RC is only available to beta testers. However, Apple has confirmed that once the update becomes available to the public, it will be available as separate software – so you won’t need to install macOS Monterey 12.4 before updating the Studio Display firmware.

Does iCloud sync?
Whoa.. let's not get too crazy now.

Really hoping to see a macOS update that helps software use all the resources available on the m1ultra machines ??

Colorful flags for keyboard layouts (in the menu bar) are gone, replaced by monochrome letter codes (US, DE, CZ, РУ). Not too thrilled, but I guess Apple knows best what's good for us...

Still has the NSPOSIXErrorDomain error. Unbelievable. Makes Safari pretty useless.

Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=28 "No space left on device"

Maybe they'll get the USB issues fixed on the fourth try?

12.3 still takes minutes to mount encrypted drives after booting.
12.3.1 helped me with this issue, and 12.4 continues to be good with this. I have a number of external drives connected and had enough time to go get coffee after logging in. Now it’s much faster, although still seems like it should be quicker.

In Safari , the longtime (awesome) option to set an entire folder of bookmarks to automatically open in multiple tabs at once seems to be gone. Anyone else?

UPDATE: Still can't find the checkbox I used to see. Can anyone tell me if they see it and where?

I've never had this error in any version of Safari in Monterey.

I was looking at this NSPOSIXErrorDomain error in the apple community discussions, found somethings related.

It could be related to anti-virus extensions or software running on the Mac effecting Safari that some people use in spite of being recommended not to use.

Its also possible Safari had several pages that were open during the sleep period of some 10 hours. Maybe the constant are you there in TCP/IP terms from a specific page could have caused it.

I only use private mode which doesn't store cookies, cache, web data, but someone like looking at a lot of online news could get this error just because the session they had in a tab or two was broken giving you that error.

Every time I see this picture it's like a kick in the groin. This is the sad state of the only iMac currently available ?

I have it on 2 of my 3 M1 machines, fearful for it happening at some point on the third machine.

It is not reproducible, and all suggestions to solve it that I found online (disable little snitch, disable privacy tracking, deleting cache etc) don't work. It just pops up unexpectedly and the only thing that solves it for a short time is relaunching Safari.

How about using Safari in private mode? No third party software that interacts with Safari. You can also determine what site URL this can occur against. A browser is only the client, the web site is also suspect when you encounter problems. One past safari beta on M1 macs going to speed test.net was using excessive memory because of script it used, reported, next beta that issue is gone.

This also happens to me on Big Sur these days. Plugging in a USB Time Machine drive and it's over a minute before there's any sign it's connected.

EDIT: I timed it today and it was three and half minutes!

I actually run Safari most of the time - if not always - in private mode. Doesn't matter for the error. I was hoping for it to be resolved in 12.4, but I guess I now have to dig a bit deeper when the error pops up again.

I'm also having the NSPOSIXErrorDomain:28 in Safari. The only workaround is to shut down Safari a few times a day and start over with it. As I'm not willing to do this for anything but trivialities I have migrated essential stuff to Chrome and am using that as my default browser, and am checking out options for returning my phone to Android as the case for the iPhone falls apart if the computer can't function, even though I'm not getting this bug on the iPhone itself.

I note an earlier comment on antivirus issues and extensions. Is MalwareBytes a problem? Is the AdGuard adblocker a problem?

Safari is basically telling you it's a POS. Flawed browser for sure, but very honest.

A rather extraordinary development since I posted this earlier. On a whim I decided to remove Malwarebytes, as I noticed it had a kernel extension.

This is the longest I've gone since getting my M1X MacBook Pro in January without this NSPOSIX ("p.o.s") error. (I haven't yet tried removing it on the Intel, we'll see if that fixes that too.)

I will keep the thread updated.
