It’s the same build no, seemingly
Yup. No real changes in all the betas since B3 tbh. A few minor issues with really bad memory leaks or errand processes but nothing noticeable. Literally all the bugs all still there. Additionally, probably one of the lowest performing OSes of all time in all my testing. It’s a dog on FPS, file transfer, you name it. Maybe adding a GPU shader on every ****ing button and UI element wasn’t the way to go…

I did call and expected this. I was more thinking RC1 and RC2, so I had the theory. Interesting that they are releasing a beta 9 this time around.
I'm not as well versed in Apple. So feel free to correct me.

But don't we usually get iPhone announcement on Tuesday, Pre-order Friday. In store 2 weeks later?

With RC coming after the event. Then RC2 (when needed) coming in the week of the phones hitting stores?

When I open an app, I noticed the corner expansion animation again. I didn't notice this in PB5, and preferred it not to.

There's still lags in the UI, regardless reduce transparency mode is enabled or not.

That said it fixed quite a few things from beta 8 that I reported : buttons on lockscreen or photo viewer, folder look, unsure but my third party keyboard seem better integrated. Magnifier loop to place the cursor is again transparent even in reduced transparency mode.

But some bugs are just not fixed. For example searching "transparency" in settings brings nothing, quite bad for an **accessibility** setting in my opinion.

I haven't tested yet on beta 9, but on previous using safari (as a passenger) while waze is running on carplay could crash carplay, and public hotshot.

Thank you for doing your part, from one beta tester (also an iOS dev) to another 🤝
Lets add them here(besides Apple Feedback App)
In Settings->Family->Screen Time->App Limits -> I see duplicate categories like "All Apps & Categories". Even if i delete them it re-appears

That is a weird one. Never happened to my imported epubs.
Just tested on the latest iOS 18.6.2. I opened the Books app (I just swiped it up like 6 hours ago) and it showed me the cover of the book and the loading spinning thing was there for solid 10 seconds.
The imported epub is an official epub from a different store.

I suspect RC on the 8th and release on 9th. And boy, is it going to be a steaming pile of shiet as evidenced by all the betas.
They touched a whole lot of the OS with this release, it was bound to be buggy. It’s improved significantly in just a few months though, so hopefully they have things smoothed out before Christmas.

In the mean time I’ve told friends not to update to iOS 26 on day 1, I think it’s going to need a little more time in the oven

Pretty spot on for the most part. Sometimes they have events on Monday, depending on the year. RC does come after the event and mostly in the same week they release an RC2, depending on the circumstances.

Hello,

I have since Beta 2 (I think) a SamsungNote folder. I can not open it, can not delete it and no feedback from Apple support. I don't know why I have this folder on my Phone (15 Pro Max).

Any one else who has this issue?

iOS 26 may be the first iOS version I'll be waiting for at least two minor releases if not the 26.1.

all reviews and remarks about the UI, glitches feels more and more that this is rushed.

I wish the 27 will be a Snow Leopard kind of release, debuggin the sh*t out of all off it.

That's obviously from some third party app. Which is why Apple Support couldn't help you much.

Think of how many people are running the beta, its a lot more people than the comments you read. People not having many issues typically say nothing. I've ran it since Dev Beta 1. It feels ready to me.

People also often complain about third party app problems. Those apps haven't been allowed to release iOS26 compatible versions yet.

I just get the feeling that they are struggling with this release, it really doesn't IOM feel as polished at this stage, with less than a week before iPhone launch time, than previous versions at the same time have done.
it is such a great product when it works (iPhone 16 Pro Max) - but its been very inconsistent for me. I've had Beta 1 installed since day 1 and obviously expect quite a large amount of bugs. However, as we get closer to the final release, I find it is still choppy when opening Messages and typing fairly quickly. Feels like it lags behind and plays catchup when I am typing on different occasions. There are a few other bugs and apps that dont play nice but when it comes to something like typing - that is absolutely an area that needs to be polished considering there aren't many iPhone users across the world that aren't typing. To be this far down the rabbit hole, weeks away from release, I felt like iOS26 would be far more polished by now. I guess we will see what changes between now and the RC release!

iPadOS26 Beta 9 seems to be okay - that has been far more buggy for me overall since the original beta release. However, as of yesterday, so far so good with Beta 9 (iPad Pro -13' M4).

Both of my Mac Book laptops, both iPads, both iPhones and Apple Watch have been on the latest developer version upon release with no issues. My M1 Ultra Mac Studio and both M4 Pro mini computers have software running that requires them to be on last years software.
