Apple today seeded the RC version of an upcoming macOS Ventura 13.2 update to developers for testing purposes, with the update coming one week after the release of the second macOS Ventura 13.2 beta.

Registered developers can download the beta through the Apple Developer Center and after the appropriate profile is installed, betas will be available through the Software Update mechanism in System Settings.

The macOS Ventura 13.2 update introduces support for Security Keys for the Apple ID, allowing users to verify their identity with physical hardware rather than a digital device code. Security Keys offer additional protection for the Apple ID, replacing the current verification codes provided on a secondary device when signing into a new device, signing into iCloud, using the Apple Store, and more. Apple's full release notes on the update are below.macOS Ventura is set to see a public launch next week.

Tell you what I am waiting for - That’s the ability to change the boot screen. Turns out I hate orange. It kills me to have to see that ugly boot screen. I don’t know what the problem is, probably a security issue but I can’t imagine it’s insurmountable. I’ve sent a feedback form and I’m sure they will get right on it. NOT

Wrapping up MacOS 13.2 as more of a bug/fix hardware pairing with new Macs, we should see the first beta of MacOS 13.3 later in the week of Jan 24th. Last year 12.3 brought universal control, what will 13.3 bring? Classical Music app? Experimental AV1 support finally in Safari 16.4? ;)

Thanks for the View tip.

Any idea whether 13.2 or 13.3 addresses the VPN slowdown issue with System Preferences (especially Apple ID/iCloud)? I tried uninstalling and removing all entries in ~/Library, Login Items, etc, but I still get horrible lag and can't use iCloud Private Relay. Lately, Find My has started freezing too.

anyone also lost the option to turn HDR on in the display settings? After the update to MacOS 13.2 it is no longer possible for me to turn HDR on. It worked perfectly fine before the update (since Big Sur had no issues with my external display, maybe some flickering on BS, but on Monterey and Ventura 13.0-13.1 it worked without problems).

Display: Gigabyte M32U, firmware F10
Mac mini M1 2020 MacOS 13.2 RC

MM & M32U are connected via USB-C – DisplayPort.

Will test later if the same occurs on my MBA M1 2020

EDIT: on MBA M1 2020 the option to turn HDR on is also gone

I have a 2-week old M1 MBP with 16GB RAM and MacOS 13.1 (running as an admin/mobile user), and it is suffering from the memory leak using Apple Mail. After launching the app I can operate it normally – sending and receiving, but once I use Mail's native search facility, the memory leak is triggered. When I restart it, it will function normally until I repeat the search. I have tried all the fixes that I can find online without joy, and filled with hope, I just spotted and installed 13.2. NOPE.... still broken.

The first MacOS 13.3 beta must be getting close, maybe tomorrow Tuesday or Wednesday PDT.. Hope it includes the Classic Music App finally, and 2nd version of the revamped Home app architecture.

It's now Feb 8th (3 weeks later from RC seed), gotta wonder what 13.3 involves with this delay?
Last few years it was Jan 27th (12.3), Feb 4th (11.3), Feb 4th (10.15.4)

Did you ever figure out a solution to this? I'm on a 2019 MBP w/ RX6900 eGPU (though the same issue occurs without the eGPU). Have never been able to get above 120Hz@4k (tried all sorts of cables), but just updated from 13.1 to 13.3 and now I have to go all the way down to 60Hz for HDR. Hoping 13.4 has something, but low expectations.

Unfortunately, no. On macOS 13.4 (22F66), the situation hasn't changed - I still don't see HDR option at 4K resolution and refresh rates above 120 Hz

On macOS 13.5 beta 4 (22G5059d) the HDR option is finally back again on 144 Hz refresh rate & 4K resolution
