Nope.Sounds like your internet connection, not Appletv. We have fiber, never seen this problem. We use Netflix, cnn, YouTube, prime, tv, Plex., Disney, Hulu And there are are a total of 6 Apple TV’s in various houses. All working great
Is yours one of the old ones?
Lastly, you might check if you have a lot of apps open. Call up task manager and flip apps up to close. I keep them pared down to 3 or 4. No idea if it does anything or if it is just old habits, but it’s what I do.
Your wifi could be saturated with devices overloading router. And there are some radio interference issues on wifi that could be impacting your devices
The internet connection is 40+ Mbps. Easily checked.
This is not the 4K model - just the still sold HD model.
No apps running other than the TV stream we are watching. We don't use game apps or stream music through the Apple TV, either. Yeah, maybe we're just boring.
No WiFi interference - I checked. At least nothing persistent that happens when the Apple TV goes dumb. Nothing else running on the network when using the Apple TV, aside from occasional messages on an iPhone or iPad.
Restarting the Apple TV fixes it every time. If it was any of the above, you'd think it would persist after a restart.
This only began after some tvOS upgrade a while back.
One other note - this almost always takes place after scrolling through program selections on any one of the streaming apps or when scrolling through the home screen. Sometimes part way through a program. I have yet to make a correlation between the streaming app and this happening - it seems to affect all apps as well as the Apple home screen. The remote control cursor also starts skipping and stuttering at the same time, making it not so much fun to get to the Restart menu item. Un-powering and re-powering has the same effect as a Restart with this.
