Apple today seeded the RC version of an upcoming watchOS 7.3 beta to developers for testing purposes, with the beta available a week after the release of the first beta and over a month after the launch of watchOS 7.2 with support for Fitness+, cardio fitness notifications, ECG updates, and more.

To install the ‌watchOS 7.3 beta, developers need to download the proper configuration profile from the Apple Developer Center. Once the profile is in place, the ‌‌‌watchOS 7‌‌‌.3 beta can be downloaded through the dedicated ‌Apple Watch‌ app on the iPhone by going to General > Software Update.

To update to the new software, the ‌Apple Watch‌ needs to have 50 percent battery life, it must be placed on the charger, and it must be in range of the ‌‌‌‌‌iPhone‌‌‌‌‌.

watchOS 7.3 adds a new "Time to Walk" feature for Apple Fitness+ subscribers, introducing an audio experience in the Workout app where guests share inspiring stories as you walk.ECG functionality is expanding to Japan, Mayotte, Philippines, and Thailand, while irregular heart rhythm notifications are coming to Japan, Mayotte, Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand.

The update also introduces a Unity watch face that's inspired by the colors of the Pan-African flag, with shapes that change throughout the day as you move, creating a face that's unique to you.

There's also a bug fix for an issue that could cause the Control Center and Notification Center to become unresponsive when Zoom is enabled. Apple's full release notes are below:

watchOS 7.3 includes new features, improvements, and bug fixes, including:
- Unity watch face—inspired by the colors of the Pan-African Flag, the shapes change throughout the day as you move creating a face that’s unique to you
- Time to Walk for Apple Fitness+ subscribers—an audio experience in the Workout app where guests share inspiring stories as you walk
- ECG app on Apple Watch Series 4 or later in Japan, Mayotte, Philippines, and Thailand
- Irregular heart rhythm notifications in Japan, Mayotte, Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand
- Fix for an issue where Control Center and Notification Center may be unresponsive when Zoom is enabled
Now that an RC version of watchOS is available, the update should see a public release next week.

Maybe my S5’s battery will last a day after this update. I think it’s been broken since 7.1

Does this version fix all the stuttering animations that many Series 5 and 6 owners are experiencing? Seems to be an iOS 14 thing in general on ALL devices but watchOS seems affected too

Another update and still no ability to turn off auto-brightness so one can have their watch as bright (or dim) as they want?

Notifications off during a workout means .... I don't want to get notifications from the workout app either! "You have closed your ring". "You are at the halfway point". Please, nothin? ??

There is the new update for the Time to Walk feature with Fitness+.
I know i'e not even tried it yet, blah blah, BUT depending on how this is implemented, this seems like a stupid move on Apples part....

They should either offer voice couches while going for a run/walk like other fitness apps. (Makes sense)
For some extra icing on the cake they could even have some story based ones that respond to your speed, like Zombie Run.

OR they should have these motivational stories under the Podcast app and include a button in the Fitness app to directly take you to these stories via Apple podcast.

Having Stories living inside a Fitness app is a poor design choice.

Just seen a leak for the “time to walk”

it will be guided walks to bring “a new audio experience that will make outdoor walks more entertaining and uplifting”

is will be described as going on a walk “with them” inspirational speakers

they will be talking, discussing and sharing knowledge and music they will also share images on your Apple Watch

the first group is Dolly Parton , Shawn Mendez , draymond green and uzo aduba

here is a photo

oh it will launch Monday and will be described in the video at the top of the fitness+ section they have started using

lastly the “time to walk” workout is now available in the workout app on your watch it’s just not functional yet
