Nah, it’s really not that bad, I mean j̶̞̭͊͛̈̃r̵̢̘̘̼̠̥̊i̶̖͖̬͕͍͎̝̪̍̂͗̈́͂͒̕j̶̙̓̈́̆͑́̑̕e̸̙̫͑̂̈́̾̈͝i̴̛̪̪̎̅̅͜ẅ̵͚̺̥͍͍̬́̋̇̀̾̑̚͘ĵ̵͖͖͉̺͍̽̍͐͝ę̸̟̐̐̌̈͊b̴̡̛̙̞̪͖̑͋̔̂̈́͗̄͝d̷̢̧̡̹̖̤̻̺̖̈́̉́̍̉͝-̶̢͙͓͉̹̩͝ ̵͇̈́̓;̴̧̹̩̫̮̤̇͗͊̄̂̏̆̍͝$̶̨͎̮̜̩͉̣̱̃̂́̑́͆̇͘,̸̡̺͇̮̼̣̇̓̔̿͆̅̕&̶̧̲̰̙̼͂̅͘3̶̨̳̗͙͓̺̞͆́͒͒̈́̑͘͝9̴̯͈̟̱̜͗̑̎̆̆̓͊̂

Guy speed ran getting suspended, after only 8 messages on a 1-day-old account...

But that was funny as heck.

After 16.5.1 I had the same issue with my 13 Pro Max. I've never had any issues before. My phone would randomly heat up while doing nothing and during the charge it would get very warm, which has never happened before, and it would lose charge very quickly. I've tried a bunch of fixes I've found online, but none of them worked.

The only thing that worked was a clean install. Connect your iPhone to a MAC, do the DFU thing and choose "Restore," not an "Update." Make sure you have a backup, because the phone will be completely wiped and restored to factory settings. The whole process was surprisingly fast, less than 1 hour, maybe around 30-ish minutes.
Could it be what another user talked about in another thread, that the fitness app has been uninstalled?
Apparently some daemon that tries to talk to the app is crashing and causing the CPU to throttle at 100% for a few seconds over and over again.

I just reinstalled the fitness app and it does seem to help batterytime.

Can you remember if you had the fitness app uninstalled before doing the factory reset?

I have the worst battery life on my 13 Pro Max on iOS 16.6 and I upgraded to beta cause I thought 16.5 was bad 🤡 but this one is tragic. I have 31% battery left and I'm at 5h1m SOT with airplane mode turned on, previously with that many battery % left i used to be at 8-9h SOT, so for me it's a huge downgrade in terms of battery life.

This is gotta be the most boring iOS 16 release, with several features present in earlier betas being pulled off and probably left for iOS 17.

Aaron of Zollotech says that battery and overall performance are very good, though, so it is probably the best we can get for now.

Interestingly, he also thinks that we will still have iOS 16.7 betas in parallel to iOS 17, which, IMHO, is quite a waste of Apple’s time and resources. After all, iOS 17 is expected in September, so we could have easily waited for iOS 17 and Apple could have patched anything urgent with their mini security patches, as they recently did. Releasing the final iOS 16.7 just a few weeks before iOS 17 seems odd. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have actually seen that and tried that but it didn't do much for me so I'm hoping RC version would be at least slightly better.

I remember. I have never uninstalled the fitness app.

Edit: Actually, I was wrong. I've confused the Fitness app with the Health app. Yes, I deleted the Fitness app a while ago, many updates before the 16.5.1.

Do you have a link to that other thread about the fitness app? Thanks.

At least for myself, beta 1 of iOS 17 was pretty useless with most features not even on the first beta. I just downgraded back to iOS 16. This is the first time in a long time I downgraded back to to the previous iOS. I had the translate app crash all the time and other issues. Just not worth it.

Always turn off iCloud backups if you do upgrade to iOS 17 beta 1 so your iCloud can actually restore your stuff back on iOS 16.

Thank you, I will be careful and will do an archived backup on my Mac beforehand if I go for it. 🖐️
