Landscape iMessage bug is still not fixed on an iPhone 7+ grrrr
*start typing a message in iMessage portrait
* turn the device
* handwriting pops up instead of turning iMessage.
I received as a response that there was a workaround so the bug is no priority.
One of the most aggravating bugs in iOS as I encounter it 20 times a day,
Well, I'll be. That works. I have been muttering and swearing at Apple for a year over this annoyance.
Had no idea that tapping that keyboard icon while in 'kindergarten' scrawl mode seems to permanently switch to landscape keyboard (adult) mode.
Are Apple EVER going to fix all the Safari text field bugs they introduced with iOS 7 and still have not fixed in almost FOUR FULL RELEASE CYCLES???

I have suffered with the same issue since installing iOS 10 on my 5s and SE, so it isn't limited to the bigger phones. And I too thought I'd stumbled upon a "fix" by hitting that Keyboard icon… only… it doesn't seem to stick for very long for some reason. It is pretty infuriating too. I never use the scrawling, ever… so for the Messages keyboard to continually Default to Scrawl in Landscape mode is just puzzling to me.I've switched to the regular keyboard back in iOS 10.0 days and haven't seen the handwriting mode since then.I don't know about "permanently"
Also removes the 32-bit compatibility list and notices on the 32-bit devices. Seeing as there's nothing that can be done.
True, but is that really how you want to prioritise bugs? This is very annoying and common for a lot of people.
I'm not sure what the bug is? If you don't use the handwriting feature tap on the keyboard icon and that brings up the regular keyboard which stays there for you as your default selection. What's the bug there?
(And, as far as actual bug prioritization, yes, things that are actually broken or are doing something unexpected that affects some data or something like that would certainly get prioritized higher than some sort of annoyance issues--fairly rational and typical approach.)

And the rotate sensitivity seems 1000 times more sensitive than anywhere else. The slightest hint of rotation it flips to scrawl mode and stubbornly stays there (I think there's a system lag as it loads up the crayons into memory) for a second or two before it will flip back to adult mode.
