Same here. On 11.3 Beta 2. Just before I replied my music app actually crashed while playing to the Express. It's too bad as I use it a lot playing to the express to feed my DAC and speakers upstairs and HomePods downstairs.

Hi all, running 11.3 Beta (20E5186d). Can anyone confirm that Music will not transmit Airplay to an Airport Express? I've sent a bug report to Apple. I can confirm that I can send music to Airport Express via iOS.

Just did a little experimenting and when I select the Express from the computer sound output drop down from the menu bar it seems to work fine. The Apple Music app automatically changes to the Express. Listening for about 10 minutes now and no problems.

I have noticed that Apples has been playing around with the interaction of the computer sound out selection and the music app selection in previous betas so that may be what's causing the issue when selecting the express directly from the music app.

I got excited to try this, but, alas, no good for me. Still no sound when I select my Express network from the Mac's main Sound preference. Again, still fine via iOS (iPhone, etc.).

So confirming that I, also, can choose an AirPort Express from the Sound output tool in the menu bar, and Music will will successfully send a stream there.

This morning I noticed that Music in latest 11.3 beta will not send an AirPlay stream to my AirPlay-equipped Yamaha receiver.

I wish the time & date didn't get quite so dim when DND is on; can barely see it. The idea is good, but the execution needs to be adjusted.

I'm also getting sound issues with this beta (reported via feedback). I have two USB DACs, and i keep getting no sound output. switching to internal speakers, still no audio. full reboot is required to bring it back. Clearly theres something up with the Audiostack in this build

Looks like the AirPlay problem is resolved in latest 11.3 beta (released today). Have not done extensively testing, but looking that way.
