Apple today seeded the second beta of an upcoming macOS Mojave 10.14.1 update to developers, one week after seeding the first beta and a little over a week after releasing the macOS Mojave update.

macOS Mojave introduces a new method of installing software updates, so after the initial beta has been installed using the appropriate profile from the Developer Center, additional betas can be downloaded through opening up System Preferences and choosing the "Software Update" option.

The 10.14.1 update includes support for Group FaceTime, a feature that was removed during the beta testing period. Group FaceTime, which lets you chat with up to 32 people at once, is also present in the iOS 12.1 beta.

No other significant features were found in the first developer beta of macOS Mojave, so it's not clear if there are any additional changes. The update likely includes performance improvements and bug fixes for issues that have been discovered since the release of the Mojave update.

Should new features be found in the second beta, we'll update this post.

macOS Mojave is a major update that brings features like a systemwide Dark Mode, stacks for organizing messy desktops, new Finder capabilities, new tools for taking screenshots, a Continuity Camera option for easily transferring photo scans and documents from iPhone to Mac, and more.

Damn. While the article was loading all I saw was the photo and not text. I was hoping for new iMac and new Mac hardware related rumors.

I hope Apple's software releases are getting better, but after the fiasco last year with High Sierra, I'm not upgrading until Mojave is on a .5 or .6 release. It's just not worth getting burned again...

Excited! Mojave is hands down the most stable release with useful (to me) features in a long time.

Yup, it is by far the most stable Apple ever released.

Far better than iOS 12 at this moment, actually it ran fine on my 6S, not so much on my Xs, reboots several times a day, says wifi password is wrong while the AP does not have internet connection, can't manually set static address and DNS servers, people complain about muffled sound when I call them and so on and on.....

No word on the font fix??
Thank you! I thought it was just me. After upgrading to Mojave the text has been off like the resolution was not right on my external monitor with some apps becoming unreadable.

Yes, a solution is needed.

I just googled and saw its a bigger issue on non-retina displays (like mine) and solutions are only partial involving the use of terminal app and needing to log in/out with trial and error.

I’m having some issues where I’m not able to view my phone on my Mac if I’m working on something or looking at the website. Also if I right click on my Mac I’m not able to click on iPhone and open the camera. Anyone else with similar issues?

Awesome, Mojave is really awesome, only issue I've had is I lost a few projects I was working on and I cannot find them to save my life

Yes it's awful. This is what I used for now:

defaults write -g CGFontRenderingFontSmoothingDisabled -bool NO

Already crashed for the first time on iMac 5K27 Late 2014: 1st - "scene from Frozen" after just 15 min since Mojave 10.14.1 Beta #2 a.k.a 18B50c update and then iMac rebooted itself. Everything ran stable for days with initial Beta release. Have not used FaceTime yet either....

JK

Must be you, I am on OS X/macOS since 10.0b and this is by far the best release ever, sure, every OS has issues/bugs, this one is the most stable we've seen so far.

I have zero issues on all of my Macs running Mojave right now. Just because you have issues does not mean the entire population have issues. It's normal to have bugs in every releases that do not affect everyone but a small set. Report them to Apple and they'll eventually fix it.

This is the first macOS that I didn't upgrade to immediately.

Previously I had trusted that Apple with its huge resources and care for its users would have tested their software before release (especially with this new trend of unpaid testing with extended beta releases).

I am hearing of two specific problems that I want fixed before upgrading:
  • font rendering
  • battery life

Ironically these are two of several key reasons for moving from a Linux primary laptop to Apple.

When I open a Finder window and add a second tab, and then close Finder and reopen, the second tab is always gone. This did not happen in High Sierra. Am I missing something?
