When I open a Finder window and add a second tab, and then close Finder and reopen, the second tab is always gone. This did not happen in High Sierra. Am I missing something?

This should be normal behavior. I don't believe Finder windows function the same way Safari does which saves the application state. I could be wrong though.

Edit: I just went into my ~/Library/Saved Application States and yes there is a com.apple.finder.savedstate. Now Finder does retain my individual preferences. For example I like to use icon view since that's how I've always set up my file managers since Windows '95 and old habits die hard but I set only my downloads folder to list view because I just prefer it that way. Sometimes I have to open and close finder windows several times for this to stick but it ultimately does.

Many other power users, if not most, of course prefer column view which shows a lot more information but I've never been a fan of how it looks.
[doublepost=1538514744][/doublepost]I almost forgot why I wanted to post in this thread! For those who have installed the 10.14.1 beta, is the version of Safari different than 12.0 (14606.1.36.1.9)? It looks like this:
Touch Bar Shot 2018-10-02 at 5.12.41 PM.png

I ask because ever since I update to Safari 12.0 from 11.1.2 before I upgraded to Mojave, my favorites icons in the Touch Bar do not show up as full size. They all show up as small box icons. Only a couple of them show up properly like iCloud and ESPN. The latter only when I visit the site. From Sierra 10.12.2 all the way to High Sierra 10.13.6 the icons always filled up the entire "buttons" all the time and whenever I deleted my entire iCloud history or emptied the Safari cache.

I see the ~/Library/Saved Application States folder, too but I don't know how to enable it for Finder. There is one fewer file in the folder, compared with High Sierra. Do you know how to set it to auto save state?

No clue at all. I don't think there's anything you can enable. This is stuff that is built into macOS and I don't believe it is configurable.

I have 4 files in that folder right now: data.data, window1.data, windows.plist and windows16.data.

Edit: I found this terminal command and it may work:

defaults write com.apple.finder NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindows -bool true

That did not work, I logged out and back in after running the terminal command. Thanks for the effort though, it's much appreciated.

Can’t wait. Mohave is a great update....Apple and the engineers should be super proud of this release. Looking forward to more bug fixes. (Preview needs some serious bug fixing)

my 13 inch 2015 MacBook Pro is doing well on Mojave so far, works well and I like the dynamic wallpaper a lot.

There are no fixes coming at all from Apple, they've intentionally removed that sub-pixel aliasing because it is a nightmare to support. So, they've given up and will remove it completely from macOS.

So what you're saying is that Microsoft has better engineers than Apple. Apple is going down the crapper. I guess non-retina users will just stay on High Sierra until they upgrade their displays (or iMac in my case).

I hope Apple's software releases are getting better, but after the fiasco last year with High Sierra, I'm not upgrading until Mojave is on a .5 or .6 release. It's just not worth getting burned again...
Sigh......
Don't let things like facts or evidence sway your actions. Mojave is solid and I have seem stability and performance gains for all Macs that are eligible to run it.

Safari on 10.14.1 is Version 12.0.1 (14606.2.102).

Thanks a lot! Hopefully this small Touch Bar icon issue will be fixed by then.

It's really awesome and I think the first one it's kind. I have used at a all hours of the day and I think there are about 8 different phases. Looks awesome before, during and after dawn!

Thanks, sadly it didn't solve the issues with audio dropouts over usb audio interfaces.
Ummm....works fine for me. USB to Cambridge Audio DacMagic to Cambridge Audio Topaz SR10 Stereo Receiver to Spendor speakers.

No audio glitches every half hour or so?
No dropouts when you turn of wlan or mess with time & date settings or location services or connect another usb device?

Okay, no problems with 14.0 or 14.1 beta 1 or 14.1 beta 2. 27" iMac i7 2017. 64GB RAM. 1TB SSD.
Or, for that matter, with 13.6.
OK.Having responded to those who asked to update for the T2 chip I thought I had an MP18 that seems to be giving different problems from the audio point of view...

Yeah, sorry for the confusion, I got so caught up in the MBP2018 problems that I forgot this thread is about all hardware configurations.

Can anyone confirm if Mojave fixes the crackling speaker issue or the VRM throttling issue with the MBP 2018?
(I haven't downloaded the supplemental update to High Sierra 10.13.6 which is apparently supposed to resolve the speaker issue because I've heard others on this forum who have downloaded it still experience speaker crackling issues and even kernel panics.)

I'm glad it is working well for you and many others. But those of us that rely on our Mac's production to pay the bills need to take a more cautious approach, which is exactly what I'm doing after High Sierra cost me a lot of lost production time last year.
