Guys, it's okay not to be excited about the categorization feature, but some of us are psyched about it. Posts that proudly proclaim you've turned the feature off is a waste of everyone's time.

How about some ideas on how to make it better? Or some other tips on how to manage your inboxes?
Categorization is great for folks who don't keep up with their email. Since I've retired it takes me 5 minutes to completely read all my email from 4 different email accounts. The best decision I ever made! I immediately turn off categorization or I will miss emails.

Is someone else experiencing issues with Logic Pro due to this update? Unfortunately, my plugins aren’t working because iLok and UA Connect are crashing.
Yes, I'm having a problem with iLok as well. I can't get licenseDaemon to run even after following all the steps on iLok's help page. Maybe it's God's way of telling me I should be playing my acoustic more. :)

It’s probably just bad luck, but I’m giving you a heads-up so you can be careful. This specific Beta 2 update messed up my hard drive—the Mac won’t start, and the only option I have is to reinstall the system…

That's really bad. :(

Good luck! Hope you have a good backup and everything will work out good.

I could be helpful to tell us if this happened with just an update from Beta 1 or an earlier macOS version.

I wasn’t sure initially myself, but I’m finding it useful on my iPhone so looking forward to it arriving on the Mac. I only use my Apple email address for personal use and it’s an easier way to sort out the really important stuff from all the marketing emails, etc.
If it works for you, that's great.

Reorganise your mail, needlessly, but make the Rules work so you can delete spam - no chance!

I just want Siri to be like ChatGPT, nothing else, no categorization, no genmoji, no gimmicks. Just give us Siri that is as clever as ChatGPT.

there is a ipsw for the beta 2, just as there was for beta 1 - but no full installer came for the beta 1.

let's hope they do a full installer for the beta 2.
the full installer is available now for the beta 2, as well as the rc 2 for the sonoma and ventura ones

I tried that too. It doesn't work.
I've been emailing with iLok support. Hopefully, they'll have a solution, but we may just have to wait for the next macOS beta. I hope that's not the case, because I have dozens and dozens of plugins under iLok.

if you are a musician, ILOK doesnt seem to work for me with either with beta1 or beta2. "ofc on my test system" not production :)
same here. tried rosetta and still nothing. Also is just me or clicking on for instance, a kick drum in the library, does not play the sound. I have to load it into a track and play it on piano roll/midi to hear it.

Same for me.

While I know Beta is never a good idea for any production system, sometimes there's a situation to go down this route nevertheless.

ilok is most of the times a real pain and I try to avoid buying plugins with this type of protection.
This is sad, as there are good plugins without an alternative, but ilok caused me some many headaches over the years.

Let's hope this gets fixed soon and Pace and Apple do not again play the ball forth and back who's responsibility it is to provide a fix.

This is precisely why I prefer using my vocal chain exclusively on analog hardware, real iron, rather than plugins. Unfortunately, I’m unable to open UA Connect, and iLoK informs me that I must revert to the previous version or wait a week.

Thank you for your reply.

Did Ilok then mention, they would have a fix in a week or so?

I am asking, because reverting to a previous OS version is not as simple as it sounds from a Beta.
You cant use a Timemachine backup from a week ago which holds the stable Sequoia version and the only way is to make a clean install and use the migration app to re-install all your personal apps and so on.

Way to time consuming and you will have some issues with non working apps or missing preferences, licenses and files for sure.

So, if Ilok has a patch in about a week, that would be acceptable and I will rather wait instead of making a clean install.

Thank you and have a great day ahead.

I'm not reverting anything. They're nuts! Last year happened in January. Two weeks with my d**k swinging!
