... except the part where Apple promoted their device during it's launch as having the much sought after app "later this year". If Amazon fails to deliver, Apple will have to deal with the customers they defrauded into buying a device with Apple's assurances the technology would be available. Whether this is entirely Amazon's fault or not (which you don't know), there's definitely gonna be a "court" involved if Apple doesn't deliver by January 1 ...

ok buddy, go ahead and jump in line for a class action suit.

If the ONLY reason people purchased an AppleTV 4K is for the Amazon app, there are quite a few issues with them that probably need to be hashed out.

4K as well as Amazon Prime we’re both deciding factors in my purchase of an Apple TV 4K. Otherwise I would’ve went with Roku

I'm trying not to bust out laughing over that one. I loved those skits!

Perhaps some missing feature that Amazon is waiting for?

That's exactly what I was thinking. Apple didn't just decide to add auto match last month when customers discovered it couldn't. So, they could have also pulled support for the Amazon app when they dropped support for auto match. The Amazon app on my Sony running Android TV OS, is not a separate app that can be installed or deleted, but integrated into the OS. So who knows what support Amazon required for the Apple TV. Maybe auto match?

Moreover, I would have never dropped $200 in September on a device that didn't do two of the three things I wanted from it -- 4K, auto match, and Amazon app. -- I would have just stuck with my old Apple TV until Apple finally delivered the full package.
