Not Fixed!

I can't belive it. Such a serious bug should be escalated to Tim. Or maybe it was already but Tim's Mail.app lost the email, who knows? ;)o_O

Is your email an IMAP or Exchange based server?

It doesn't matter. It is confirmed that the bug of losing your emails effects all users, regardless of the syncing protocol.

I'm still on Mojave. Should I update?

Catalina actually is a downgrade. It does __less__ for you than Mojave, the lack of a 32-Bit subsystem can be a real problem (especially in areas where you least expect it, like printer drivers that can no longer be installed), the "do you want to allow notifications for application xyz" dialogs are annoying, the Terminal's constant reminder "zsh is the new default, not BASH" keeps going on your nerves and other than that, there is absolutely nothing noteworthy new in Catalina.

So, as other posters have mentioned -- if you can ask that question, you can sit it out.

I've been holding off, but may upgrade on the .2 when it makes a public release. How long between beta and release on .1?

I wondering this too. If .2 is right around the corner I might even delay my 16" purchase until it is released. (Pending reviews of how stable Catalina is on the 16".)

Presuming they follow the pattern of .1, there will be a third beta of .2 coming around the 20th and a public release on or around the 25th of November.

I don't think it is necessary to wait on the 16". I'd get that right away if I was in the market for it. The upgrades are efficient, and you can perform them probably about out of the box. Also, there will be lag after the release before systems have the new OS.

Thanks! Even if I wait a little (I'm curious about seeing benchmarks for the various GPU configurations and perhaps taking advantage of a Black Friday promotion), a question at the back of my mind was how long after a point release does the latest release start showing up "out of the box" for BTO MBP purchases...

I keep getting "An internet connection is required to install macOS" after a while preparing.

After downloading the update and preparing, with 2 minutes to go, I get a "An internet connection is required to install macOS". Catalina is such a train wreck. Stay away

I'm still having issues I'm hoping .2 addresses

1. mail will open sporadically open ... no it isn't lost connectivity to various mail servers ... it does appear to be happen on a background fetch of mail though

2. background windows suddenly appear in the foreground when I'm typing (its happening right now as I type this write-up)

3. I still cannot cut and paste text with graphics into Apple NOTES ... graphics get dropped and I have to manually import the saved GIF/PNG/etc. then drag/drop into Apple NOTES (this sucks as I'm trying to import my knowledge database with over 1000 entries

4. apple mail notifications won't appear until I quit apple mail ... then a bunch of mail notifications appears from past mail ... weird.

I'm 10.15.1 w/clean install and very limited applications installed (I run most things in VM's)

with this being said I like Catalina a whole ton load ... I like the ROFS for OS integrity, I've switched from Microsoft outlook to apple mail, from Microsoft onenote to apple notes, from using mail to using apple reminders as my daily organization tool (love it) ... and a bunch of other things

I think I'll wait until 10.15.3. My Mojave 10.14.6 is irresistibly almost-bug-free.

I've been on a clean install since 15.10.0 ... am on 10.15.1 now .... recently I've been having window focus foreground/background issues .... as well as bluetooth keyboard issues ...

I would recommend at least until .3 ... and make sure you have a bonified full backup before proceeding ...

if you are looking at upgrading, you may experience more issues/problems than the clean install route

Sad hoe far Apple has dropped with regards to reliability. Heck, it's not that they don't have enough money or talent. What the dizzle?

I have an iCloud mailbox that shows 450+ items in Catalina. iOS 13.3 beta shows only 291 items. There are directories ("Pages" for one) on the root level of iCloud drive that Catalina cannot see that Mojave and iOS 13.3 beta can see. The iCloud syncing is still very broken.

Are you running the 15.2 beta? 15.1 is still broken at my end. I turned off iCloud, restarted and everything seemed ok, but then it went back to as it was after a while, so I'm sitting tight in the hope 15.2 will resolve any issues.

The only way I can see 32 bit back on a modern Mac is through a program similar to NTVDM.exe on Windows.
